Cool guys please tell me if this is a good deal or not!!!

hi guys! im new to the RX7 scene. recently i have a friends aunt selling her 91 10 AE turbo RX7 with 87K miles on it, and she wants $5k - 6k for it, do u guys think this is a good deal?

oh and if possible can u guys tell me the difference between all the models of FC like GTU, GLX, GL/GX, or whatever, sorry im not familiar with those terms yet. also whats the diff between a 10AE turbo II and a normal turo,? is it just a fully loaded turbo version? anyways if thats a good deal i might be able to join u guys!

its hard to say really with out knowing more or seeing it.....however if u have 5-6k to spend.....if u r able to try to find one that has a blown motor and get a rebuild done....for 5-6k u can get a T2 with some decent mods and be on the road kickin *** and takin names....

5 or 6K for any stock 2nd. Gen is too much money. Even the super clean 'verts around here go for less than that.

In the local Memphis paper over the last few days there was a '91 for $1,800 dollars listed as "super clean" with perfect body and leather interior, good engine with 97K total on the car.

One can routinely find 2nd. gens. here for $1,200 for NA models to $3,000 for good turbo versions. I would consider $5K too much for a totally restored car with a new engine in it. My '86 has been completely rebuilt from one end to the other including new paint (I did all the work) and I have less than $4K in it at this point.

About a year ago I test drove both a 1993 turbo mr2 and a turbo rx7 (1988, 10th an)

The turbo MR2 was too expensive at 9k and I believe it had some kind of mods because it was pushing fairly high boost on the stock guage. I dont really know those cars very well, all I can say is that it was a sick *** car and the owner said he beat modified mustangs with it.

The tenth an rx7 had a newish engine in it, RB Turbo Back Exhaust, and a fcd. It too was extremely fast. It felt identical to the turbo mr2, maybe a little bit more power after 6k rpms but even all in all.

It seemed like both these cars felt just as fast.

Stock vs stock I'd have to say the MR2 is faster because my rx7 was kinda slow when it was stock (clogged cats most likely), but if you find a tII and put about $1500 into it, you will be very happy like me.

The only that comes close the SW20 is an FC turbo.&nbsp The SW20 edges the FC turbo slightly if you look at raw specs, and a competent driver in the SW20 will just edge out the FC turbo in all respects.&nbsp The SW20 has several years more of technology advancement (91-95?) versus the FC turbo at 87-91 - I hope it's a better car.

If anything else, Toyota quality is hands-down winner, period.&nbsp Any of you who think your Mazda is a better built car than a Toyota...you're smoking good crack!

i asked my friend the other day and its really a 91. so u guys really think the car is not worth 5k in good condition?

how many hp and torque does the 91 TII produces?

another question is have any of u guys convert a 2 seater FC to a 2+2? is it really hard?

thx for any input guys!
