How much do you pay for Lucas? I know a place where you can get it for like $14 for a litre... not that expensive. I don't use it in my RX tho, as I'm not sure how well it burns. I DO use the fuel treatment tho, with a bit of MMO.
BTW, I only use Castrol GTX 20W50 in the summer. In winter I use Castrol GTX 10W40.
Plus of course I add a litre of MMO in with ever oil change.

There was a discussion on the FD board about oil weights. Mazda recomends 10W30 in their REW engines. To make a long story short, I am in favor of using 10W30 in my old 13B now.
I currently use Castrol GTX 20W50.
Oh yeah, 10W40 shouldn't be used in a rotary due to the viscosity enhancers which degrade the oil some how.

so almost everybody runs 20W50, I'm on the right track! I just noticed when I put the 10W30 the oil consumption was greater, and when I'd start the car I'd have a puff of blue smoke.
And yes castrol GTX too!!
maybe valvoline if I can find it.
anybody ever try Agip oil? The brand that usually sponsors ferrari race cars? A place by my house sells that oil, I should check it out.

I used to use valvoline in my 7's before and now I use castrol GTX (by the case @ price club) 10w-30 w/mmo in the sump.
All you Moo Foos in Canada using 20w-50... Damn that's thick.
You guys copying the ones in the states w/constant 30degree celcuis weather?
I used to use 5w-30 in the sump in the winter (yes I have no choice to drive it in the winter)

Havoline 20W50 year round. I top off with generic 5W-30 gas station oil.
I've heard of people blowing oil cooler lines by running cold engines over 3500 with 20-50, just because it builds so much pressure and the regulators can't bypass it all. Whatever the theory, I'm going to switch to Castrol GTX on my next change, probably 10W40 if I can find it. (Dunno Castrol oil grades.)
Plus I've heardt hat thinner oil is better with huge journal bearings because it flows better. Over 3500 the regulators bypass a lot anyway, so it will still be generating enough pressure, but will flow more VOLUME.

I have talked to my engine guy about any type of synthetics and he said that the ydo not burn very well in rotarys and that I would have to change out spark plugs more often because they would get a lot of build up. SO you can run it. The only thing that he did tell me not to run is Castrol Syntechs. He said that it would ruin the engine. I will ask him why this synthetic will ruin an engine while others do not, next time I see him.
