Hi
Want to convert my auto to a manual. Anyone know the mods needed to convert the auto harness to the manual one. I think the tranny and clutch switch need rewiring. Is there anything else? Anyone got pictures of it done or can tell me what to do.

He is finishing his shop in PA, and has done conversions before. However - for those that are not close, he can rewire the neccesary parts and you would just have to send the correct portions in.

Supposedly its just portions of the wiring thats easily accessible (read not under the dash), but he will have to come up with a way for the person to ID them and remove/send it in.

He talked about taking pics of his next conversion, and that should help.

I am less than happy with the wiring still and need more info before starting the project. I have emailed George so hopefully he will reply. I didn't realise he is Exit13B. He mentioned manufacturing a harness adapter. That would be great.
Maybe someone else will give some input as well. I guess there must be a few converted cars out there.

well from what ive heard the harnesses between manual and auto are the same.. nobody really knows this but if u look under the shifter plastic in ur car.. ull see a blue connecter that goes nowere.. its for the automatic shifter.. i think theextra switchses and connectors are just hidden places.. and u just need extentions or to connect them its actually pretty cool..

I have emailed George several times on different email addresses. No answer. He must have gone undercover. Someone who has converted their car must know.

The ECU's are different also Auto has different redline, boost cut etc.
Check Arron Rinaca's site (Beyond the Redline http://beyondtheredline.fd3s.net) he converted his MBM fd project.

 

Aaron replaced the entire harness and removed the dash. I want to leave all this and just mod the harness.

 

George will probably not like that I suggested this, hehe, but call him. Had a really interesting discussion at length with him.
