You guys know where I can buy one? Because guess what, my wipers only work on one setting!!! I know I know weird thing huh, must be the first with this problem
thanks guys
thanks guys
I had a similar problem (and my rear wiper wouldn't work at all). I got a reconditioned one from RX-7 Heavan here in Ottawa, Canada. Cost me CA$150 plus the old wiper relay (CA$175 without). This one works like a charm (even the rear wiper
)
They have ones for different models.

Try this...click on the search function of this page. Then search for, "Wiper relay" and you will find many past discusions on this. There should be a page that has all of the parts you need. It is very through.

This relay G5LE-14 DC12 PCB RELAY and this relay G6C-2117P-US-DC12 Subminiature Moving Loop Power PCB Relay I ordered this hour from this site http://omron.ca/c/htmlos/00399.1.896...ProductListing
I ordered three each for the three ones laying about the place here. The big one is the G5LE and the lower one is the G6C. I have never replaced them before, so I can't vouch for the results. I used a soldering wick on the removal and did not overheat anything. You just have to have a soldering wick to remove them, in my opinion. Maybe a buck from Radio Shack.
The shipping cost as much as the relays. But that is to be expected. By the way, DIGI-KEY did not have the G6C, thats why I resorted to the OMRON site in the url.

ASHERWOOD... I read https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=35372 sometime ago and thought it was a very good article, but, when I looked in the DIGIKEY catalog they did not list the small relay under *relays-OMRON*. I also read from another post that another fellow called DIGIKEY and they said they did not carry the relay. They did have the large relay though. So I gave up with DIGIKEY and went to the OMRON site and made the order. They listed the small relay but I used your number for the large relay(they did not list the part # that was on my relay). I'll look at the catalog for Icemarks number and see where I went wrong. Brand new catalog, should have been current.
I took the “crude but effective” approach. I used a big ol’ generic relay, soldered some short leads on the terminals, carried the leads to the board, and duct taped it to the module. I can hear it tick-tock in intermittent mode, but it should last forever.

The relay the Icemark points out: Z950-ND is a Omron G6C-2114P-US-DC12 which is the same as G6C-2117P-US-DC12 except that one is sealed and the other is not (both will work for us). You are right that Digi-Key does not list the original (big white) relay G8S-117P-FD-04 but Omron does make a replacement one: G5LE-14-DC12 and this one is electrically and physically the same.
From the Omron site these are the pages that I referred to:

Hope that this info helps...
Asherwood....thank you. Yes, I was eyeballing that 2114P and thinking about why wouldn't that work but never followed thru. Just procrastinated forever. I'll look at their catalog when I get home. Just had a case of the dumb little peckerwood syndrom. I'm hoping that this gets archeived or the other one. Its helpful if one knows the part numbers. I know that the numbers on my relays did not exactly match the ones you quoted in the other post. I figured they used an alternate on the newer cars. Anyway I registered with them and got my password and ordered three each. The help is appreciated.
Jameco Electronics in Cali also carries the G5LE-14 DC12. I think it's also cheaper than the other company I was looking at for one. It was $1.87 at Jameco. Can't remember if I was comparing it to Digikey or Mouser though.
Any which way it save you a bundle!
When I called the local Mazda dealership the price for the wiper switch assembly (the whole works) he quoted almost made me crap my drawers! He said "it's $735.54, and we'll have to order it!"
A few buck for relays and solder along with the patience to do-it-yourself is worth the effort!

G6C-2114P-US-DC12 or G6C-2117P-US-DC12 they are pretty much the same.
The numbers on the relays found in the switch are from Omron Japan...

I copied and pasted both links, and when they are pasted like the above, they turn out different. Got me. Just a curiosity.
EDIT: Well darn. When I first copied and pasted, they showed up different, even though they looked the same when I copied them. But when I completed this post, they both turned out the same.
For those who are interested in trivia, take my url and paste it to a Word document. Then take Asherwoods and paste it just under where you pasted mine. Once pasted, they look different. Trivia.
