Question Fuel Leak....Now I smell it.....now I don't. ??

Hey I have been smelling a gas leak right underneath my throttle body and could even see it. Then it went away for about 3 weeks....no leak whatsoever. Now it's back. Could this be a fuel pulsation dampener or a leaking injector ?? My car will be going into the shop next week for an engine swap anyway and the problem will be fixed then, BUT just wondering what it could be for it to leak then not leak. Any ideas appreciated.

Sounds very much like the pulsation damper. That's just about where it is, and as you probably know, they're a known "wear" piece.

Could be the o-rings on the primary injectors.

Ahhh, yes this is what my mechanic suggested as well. Could the O-Ring be replaced or do I have to buy a whole friggen injector ?? While looking at the gas trickle from underneath the throttle body....way down flush to the engine I do not see the fuel pulsation damper. So, this could very well be an o-ring if it looks like it's leaking from a flush....level surface correct?? Thanks for the replies guys

I had a similar leak and it was the pulsation damper leaking from the top. The way i confirmed that it was the problem was by removing the pressure reservoir infront of the upper manifold then moving the selonoids behind it and then with a flash ligth looking at the wetness on top of the pulsation damper(it looks like a fuel pressure regulator). Good luck. Ev7

The best way is to buy new primary injectors and new o-rings. But they're pretty expensive. So you might want to get used injectors that are in good condition. Or you can just replace the o-rings and see what happens. It will usualy work. Dont forget to replace the pulsation dampener at the same time becaues it will fail sooner or later even if it's not leaking now.
