Hello everyone I just got this car recently and I dont know what color is the coolant used for the radiator is, my gauge is showing it's low and I need to put in more coolant but I dont know what color the FD3s uses. If anyone can tell me thatd be great thank you.

Just go get some normal Prestone...ethylene glycol based coolant. The "green stuff".

Don't just add coolant. You will want to run about a 75/25 distilled water/coolant mix. Notice the "distilled" water...don't put tap water in.

 

Just look in your overflow tank. What color is the coolant in that?

 

Yes, make sure you use the regular green coolant and not dexcool. Make sure you don't mix them either or you can screw up the cooling system. Also, if you decide to use a bottle of Redline water wetter, make sure you remember this the next time you change the coolant 'cause the water wetter makes the coolant look pinkish, like dexcool.

 

Do not use the pink or red coolant. This stuff eats the hell out of the engine internals. It is not good for 100K like it says on the bottle. I would drain you whole system and use fresh stuff to be safe. Use distilled water if you dont buy the pre mixed stuff. I also use water wetter but it shouldn't change the color of you coolant.
