40 is way to small 48 minimum 50 preferable.

Get a Cater fuel pump and bypass type regualator.

Clueless on the ignition, you could swap in an electronic distributor from a first gen.

Yes it will work

A 40DHLA is far too small if you want decent power out of a 13B. You'd be lucky to get more than stock.
You'll need a whole new ignition system using a distributor and twin coils out of an early carbed rotary (pre-84?).
Why are you doing this?

not to start up a carb vs FI war! but carb is the way to go on the naturally aspirated... no matter what u do to fuel injection.... it wont give u the power the carb gives u... i dont know about getting bigger secondaries... if i hear the stock injectors on n/a's are good for lots of HP..
when i do my rebuild im goin mild street port wit a holley 650 racing beat 6 pt intake and make some decent power... as for 1/4 mile times you're lookin at maybe low to mid 14's.. you could probably run 13's but im not gonna promise anything my friend just sold a bridge ported 86 wit the carb setup exhaust header and he was runnin 13's constant.. but then again thats bridge port.. big difference...
but if u do go with carb.. u need the carb the intake manifold.. either a jay-tech or racing beat .. a 1st gen distributor.. and block off plates for the acv and the egr i believe..

We haven't had a good carb vs. FI debate in atleast 2 or 3 weeks. Lets have another one.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Please don't spread misinformation, there is already enough of that going around.

You tell them Aaron. I agree with you. If carbs are so awesome then why aren't they using them in F1, Cart, IRL, FIA WRC, BTCC, etc.....? Just a thought. In SCCA soloII prepared classes there is a 10% weight penalty in my class for using non stock fuel injection on a car. Minimum weight is 1900# so that 10% added back would make my minimum weight be 2090#. Thats an increase of 190# because of fuel injection that according to many is not as good as a carb. Do they do this because carbs are better? I don't think so.

Well that's the first time you've mentioned nitrous, so perhaps you should be grabbing the spoon...
Not being rude here, but from the questions you're asking, you seem a little shy on carb knowledge. You'll be lucky to see mid-15's with a 40DHLA, maybe 14's on the gas.

A 40 is WAY too small. I have a 45DCOE on my stockport 12A, and I wish I had gotten a 50 (so I'd have room to street port).

I had a VW Bug that had dual 40DHLA's on it.
