Check valve for TID mod?

What check valve are you guys using for the TID mod? I've got everything else done, just looking for a local, cheap source for a check valve.

Thanks,
Jeff

Are you talking about the check valve that goes over the BOV? You can buy them at home depot, plumbing section. That's where I got it.

I got mine from Lowes, my Home Depot didnt have ****. Its blue, circular, plastic, and it was by the plumbing, but not in it. It looked like a section for crap you would buy for an above ground pool.

Yeah, for the BOV. What dept is that in? What is it used for in home application.

Thanks,
Jeff

The one I got was made of copper. It has a swinging valve inside.

The best ones to get are the brass ones. They seal the best. The blue plastic ones sound the best but leak vacuum pressure and flutter. Here's a pic of the brass one, it is installed backwards but you get the idea.

Looks like a rubber hose to me. And 2 clamps. So if the valve is threaded female you could get a 1/2" nipple screw it into the valve and get a 2" hose w/ 1/2" I.D. and wala.

They're there, every Home Depot I've been to up here has them, and you guys in the States seem to be able to find them as well.

Really, you should consider getting a real blow-off valve - you can get a TurboXS BOV for just over $100, and it takes only a minute or two to install.

Unless you have just the right check valve, you will have problems with an intermittant vacuum leak that can cause driveability problems. $100 ain't much, guys - leave the ghetto stuff at Home Depot .

I have a 6 dollar plastic water valve on my car - it doesn't leak at all. Perfect iddle. Blows off pretty damn loud as well.
