Blow Off Valve question!

I have the apexi bov that sounds not high pitched but more of a small explosion, my friend just got the HKS one in his mr2 and it was really high pitched sound, I was wondering if i bought the greddy type s or another high pitch bov could i change them from one to another easily, so like say one month i use the apexi and other month i want something different. but anyways just wondering if id have to do to much work to do the change so often. thx for any info.

Tony Ps. dont post if ur just here to hate ',..,'

they use different flanges. but if you use the kits which give you the pipe and the flange to fit on a stock ic layout - then its not much work just to swap out those pipes.

All the WRX's down here like to run them...real loose.

i had a blitz and now i have a greddy. the blitz was a monster. it sounded great. only bad thing was it leaked vaccum. so i ended up with a greddy. its high pitched but not as great as the blitz.

YA thats what the hks is sorta like a bird chirp, see the apexi not many people have and it doesnt chirp it just like combusts and makes like a mini explosion and i love that, but the high pitch powerful sound is also very cool thats why i was asking if u can chance the bov's from one to another easily so i can just like have a diff one on whatever days i want =]

What's the big deal?
I don't care how the BOV sounds, as long as it's not too loud and doesn't create compressor surges.
My e-bay cheapo works just fine.

When I feel like making noise, I open up the header dump & lay on the boost.
You ain't hearin nothin after that!

I would stick with the Apexi, I like the clean low swoosh.

i think as far as a great mix of performance and sound the GReddy type s kicks ***.

as far as pure performance, tial 50 mm's and apexi twin chambers.

hey guys,

i have a noob question about installing an aftermarket BOV vent to atmo.
before i had a DSM Turbo, and had no need to install an aftermarket BOV cuz the stock unit is pretty heavy, there were also much of problems with installing aftermarket bovs cuz of recirculation.
so i wonder how it works on a FC? just plug and play? do i need to modificate something?
i dont really want a BOV because its cool, and makes some noises. a decent one venting to atmosphere would be nice. oh and.. i really dont like this chirping HKS types..

thanks in advance

Charge, the FC is a MAF system just like the DSM. You will hit rich spots when you vent the BOV to atmosphere, but it won't hurt anything. Most stores sell the FC specific kit as well so it would be a couple of hose clamps and two bolts for the BOV flange.
