Question BOV doesnt make sound?

So i bought a Blitz SS blow off valve a few months ago that actually came with the metal pipe its attached to cause the plastic **** broke. Well, it doesnt make any sound. Im not sure if its supposed to or not but all i keep hearing is that particular bov sounds good yet i hear nothing. its a totally stock 89 T2 except that blow off valve and yesterday i put in a new hks air filter......ideas?....advice?....whats going on here?

1. is it adjusted properly? set to the proper boost(opening point)? it may not be opening. so it's not doing it's job.

2. from my personal knowledge the Blitz SS should be fairly loud even at low boost levels...

let us know so we can help you,

Ryosuke

definitely look at the BOV. there will be a screw or bolt with *most Likely* a locking nut on it to keep it set at the setting you decide on. I have the SSQ and the adjustment bolt is right on the back. I'm not sure which way more / less sensative is for your aplication.

take care,
Ryosuke

EDIT: to test i would turn the srew all the way out and rev the engine to get a small amount of boost then let off. if it wooshes then you know that's the most sensative it can be. if not turn it full in and test again.

once you have found the most sensative start turning it in until you are happy with where the BOV releases.

there should be a bolt on top to adjust it. I had the Blitz DD and my friend has a Blitz SS, and the adjustment bolt is on top.

does your BOV have custom work done to it? Like did anyone weld over the hold or something. If there is no adjustment screw basiclaly it will not hold boost.

If the screw is missing, that's a leak that won't allow it to create vacuum... You can buy set screws at your local hardware store though...

your vaccum hose might not be connected to the right place, take a pictures of where it is connected to also. and make sure the big hose in the back of the metal pipe is connected to the BAC valve too.
