Atkins Rotary

I just wanted to get some feedback about Atkins rotary. Last summer my engine blew and was replace with an atkins motor. Well 5000 miles later the new engine blew. This was about a month ago. Well I found out today that it was because of the stationary gear bearing failing on both rotors. From talking to some people I have got mixed information about things with atkins. I heard that there was a good many of engines that went out of atkins that have gone bad within a short period of time, possibly because of a supplier change or something. I am not bashing atkins i just want to get some info to see if this is ture or not. Anyway let me see some post on any info you have regarding an issue like this. thanks

8,000+ miles on an Atkins streetport w/ shaved rotors, still running hella strong.

I went to the gainesville raceway tonight and saw one of there sponsored cars I guess, I think its a rx-3 and anyways well it looked like it blew an apex seal, was not pretty, but last week I saw them running 9's on the same motor, don't know if that helps but I thought it was kinda funny.

This is why I build and port my own engines.....BTW: Stationary gears don't just "fail". If the gear breaks it is because of over reving (11,000 RPM plus I would guess) or It was a fatigued gear from another previous car they used the parts from. If it was a stationary gear bearing it was most likely oil releated.

I bought an atkins rebuild in september, the first one lasted about 20 mins. until it ate up the bearings. the second one worked well. I sold the car a few months ago, and as far as i know the engine is still running strong.
