Yikes....those rims are pretty nasty.............IMO that is..........

anyone know if the Kosei K1 will fit on the 83 non GSL-SE? Those rims are cheap for its weight.

what are the different trim models of all the 1st Gens anyways? I've checked that voodoo page, but all it showed was "Standard" (which I would assume is the non GSL-SE.............I think there are other trims right? like S or something)

in 1984 it was:

S
GS
GSL
GSL-SE

I can't remember other years, but most likely it was the same.

hmm......so, what are the differences between these trims?

They are all running with the 12A engine right? and the GSL-SE only came in 84?

12A vs 13B

All 1st Gen's with 12A's had 4x110 bolt pattern wheels. The GSL-SE was made in 1984 & 1985, was the only 1st Gen with a 13B, and all had 4 x 4 1/2 bolt pattern wheels.

Conclusion, the GSL-SE is way easier to find aftermarket wheels for.

Me, I'm not a race car driver. So, my vote always goes for a nice set of '83 LE (BBS) wheels on a 12A 1st Gen. They fit, no rub, look good, can get a reasonable selection of tires, and enough sidewall height so you don't feel every pebble you drive over.

Kosei does make the K1 in a 4x110 pattern, but I think they have been back logged for a long time. A friend of mine wanted some from Tire Rack and that's what they told him. They basically said that they didn't know if/when it would be available.

The gsl came with a rear disc lsd, sunroof, power windows, premium sound. These were options I beleive on the GS. I am not sure about the other models. Check the link for more info: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/S.../firstgen.html

or: http://www.rx7.org/public/1st-gen.html

hope this helps clear things up

Kinda funny, but of the two wheels there that you can see the lugs on, both have one too many for a 4x110 pattern.

All were 12A except GSL-SE with 6-port 13B, GSL-SE only in '84 and '85.

there are a plethora of companies that will refurbish your rim for around 100$. try www.wheelcollisioncenter.com or search for similar.

If they are stock and basket weave type, 14". They are made by BBS. Essentially, they are earlier versions of the stock BBS wheels you see on 2nd Gen Verts.

I've got a set of 4, but if I sold one then I'd have a set of 3. Not so sure it would be a good idea to break up the set.
