Now Accepting Yahoo Japan Auctions Orders!

As part of my last large container shipment from Japan (see here for details: Probably *LAST* FDNewbie Imports Incoming Parts Container! Join while you can! - RX7Club.com), I'm offering fellow rotary members the opportunity to secure whatever parts they want from Yahoo Japan Auctions, and include them on this current shipment.

I'M NOW READY AND AVAILABLE TO TAKE YAHOO JAPAN AUCTIONS ORDERS!!!

- Please understand I am NOT taking REQUESTS (ie, I'm not SEARCHING for parts). You gotta do the searching on your own, find the exact auction you would like to win, and provide me with the link.

- As such, please use your due diligence. You pick the part, so you're responsible for its condition, functionality, etc etc. I'm only purchasing it for you and shipping it for you (as opposed to me selling something to a customer on my own, in which case I always guarantee and stand behind what I sell 100%).

- NO BIDS will be placed unless the FULL cost of the part (plus a few $$ for the currency exchange losses) is RECEIVED. NO EXCEPTIONS. I'm not looking to stock up on more parts that people may change their mind on.

- Having said that, if you provide me a link and the payment, that order is considered FINAL, because I cannot guarantee I'll see any last minute modifications or cancellations to your order prior to placing the bid for you.

- Payments for auctions not won will be refunded promptly in full, unless you request that the money be utilized for another option.

- ALL ORDERS MUST BE RECEIVED VIA EMAIL ONLY (NO PMs!!!!).
------ Kindly make sure the Subject line = "Yahoo Japan Auction" so I can check it ASAP
------ Kindly make sure you include your Paypal Transaction ID # in your email, so I can keep track of who ordered what!

If there are any GENERAL questions, feel free to ask them on this thread. Otherwise, please keep all specific questions/requests/orders to email (Ramy@FDNewbie.com).

Thanks!
~Ramy

Thanks,

Not sure how other do it. I've never looked until now, but found this website where you can at least browse what is available and it has Google and Microsoft translate service tied to each posting so you can read it in English.

http://www.importmonster.com.au/

Scroll down toward bottom of page and look for Japan Yahoo Auctions in English link.

Or use google chrome as a browser, and it will translate pages for you.

Good luck with this Ramy! Guys even if you are doing all the work and just sending money and links to Ramy, this is still going to be quite a bit of work for him and very time consuming. If you are bidding be sure to bid as much as you are willing to pay otherwise you may miss out.
Any idea when you will be shipping Ramy?

MuRCieLaGo 12-16-12 11:22 PM

How do you want for shipping Japan/Your house?

Will you ship to Canada (buyer's expense, of course).

Thanks!

Thanks man. Yea I don't think ppl realize just how time-intensive this is. Big headache. One of the reasons I'm gettin outta the game lol. HUGE time and effort investment for nowhere near as much return. I'd rather stick with my day job full-time. But still have a passion for getting those crazy rare JDM parts! haha

If you are bidding be sure to bid as much as you are willing to pay otherwise you may miss out.
I'm trying to emphasize this point to people. The deposit you send me should be the MAXIMUM amount you're willing to pay for the part, because it IS an auction. And I'll only bid up to the amount deposited.

Any idea when you will be shipping Ramy?
The GOAL/AIM (if all goes according to plan, God Willing) is to have all the parts tucked into the container by the end of January, ship out by the start of February, here by end of February/early March, and start shipping out parts to customers by the end of March.

Absolutely. I ship worldwide, at the customer's expense.

Theres a LOT of great deals on there...especially in coilovers. Currently there are coilovers for rx7 (both fc and fd) from every major manufacturer including HKS, Cusco, Aragosta, Ohlins, Tein, Greddy, Re-Amemiya, Blitz, etc. There's even a set of Quantum CR for FD with independent reservoirs which retail for over $7000 new, they're up there for less than half that (which is still too much for me but a great deal nonetheless). Some nice fd exhaust there too from FEED, Re-Amemiya, JIC, etc.

Dude, don't get suckered into what something STARTS at. It's just like Ebay. Auctions start at $0.99 ALL THE TIME, but end up in the hundreds, and even thousands lol.

Keep an eye on GOOD condition RZ seats (not the beat up ones you posted up earlier) and see how much they go for. Then factor in shipping. And you'll realize they're SUPER expensive, any way you cut it.

Genuine Carbon R-spec hood!!!

Ok R-Spec fans, time to put up the $$$ or stop posting about how you crave genuine Mazdaspeed R-Spec parts  Here we have a genuine Carbon Fiber R-Spec hood. It's been painted but I'm sure with care the paint could be removed and the carbon could be restored with new clear etc. This hood cost a fortune when new, Ramy would probably know how much but I think at least $3K possibly more. So expect this to go for a big $$$.

I used to mess w/ stuff like that, but w/ the FD community dying, it became harder and harder to sell stuff like that and make ANY profit on it. Esp keeping in mind how heavy that box will be, so shipping is gonna be on the expensive side...

Do you speak Japanese? because if you have any questions how are you going to communicate? Some may speak English but not very well most likely.
Also many sellers won't even deal with the hassle of shipping overseas especially so far to the States, maybe if you lived in Australia or something it wouldnt be a problem but we live a lot farther away.
Either way there are plenty of bidding services, the main advantage of going thru Ramy with this is saving shipping $ imho. Do you know how much it costs to ship a hood or bumper from Japan? Because most of the time it costs nearly as much as the part itself.

I mean, we have technology. I could speak to someone in Swahili if I wanted to, so communicating isn't an issue.
But what you are arguing Bryan is basically what these Yahoo JP style fronts have propagated over the last five years and it just seems like another barrier to entry type thing that has been planted in the community that, in reality, isn't a strong case. Sorry, but I've seen how all this has rolled and I don't get why you have to render your service to someone else when you have all the tools to do the same thing yourself, especially when you have no idea what they (the lieson) is doing on on the backend.

As far as everything else goes... I get that this is going to be part of a "Large" shipment so that is how you will save on shipping. Also, Ramy isn't doing this as part of a business, just as part of an already existing shipment that will be happening either way.

So I have a question...if I placed an order now and won the bid tomorrow, when should I expect it here in the states?

Bryan Jacobs 12-19-12 03:18 PM

Communicating is not as simple as hitting google translate (or using any other voice program). Ever heard of the phrase "lost in translation"? Technology is not a substitute for actually knowing Japanese. Also what you seem to forget is that a majority of sellers in Japan ARE NOT GOING to deal with packing/shipping LARGE heavy/bulky parts to the states. It doesn't matter whether you speak fluent Japanese or not with many sellers of larger items (that can't be shipped via usual means such as EMS economically) unless you have an "agent" willing to inspect and handle the logistics you will be sol regardless as far as purchasing even if you speak Japanese or you are willing to pay a premium. Also lets not forget U.S. auction sites have some of the highest rates of fraud and non-payment, another reason why many Japanese sellers won't bother taking the risk. Either way no one is preventing you from trying to do anything so their is no "barrier." No ones forcing you to buy thru Ramy so if you don't want to then don't.

And all this time i thought the main advantage of dealing with me is going through someone you trust :D

In addition to the aforementioned points, YJA actually forbids foreigners from joining, bidding on, selling, or buying on their auctions. That's actually why the YJA site itself built in a lot of roadblocks for Google translator (now it's hit or miss on whether a page will translate for you or not).

As such, users will NOT sell to buyers outside of the US.

Users also MUST pay using domestic payment methods, not international wire transfers.

Also, as Bryan mentioned, fraud is a real concern. I've experienced this first-hand, both in the US (eg. on eBay) and in Japan (YJA), when a promised functional item arrives non-functional, or a part doesn't arrive as described, etc. So when I was SELLING items from Japan to you guys (in the past), I was taking the brunt of all this risk, and any/all associated losses. Which of course had to factor into my pricing.

This is COMPLETELY different than what I'm doing right now (offering ppl the opportunity to get very expensive to ship parts onto my container). I'm NOT selling the parts. You pick out the auction, I'm merely the middleman. And shipping it to you. Not looking to deal w/ the risk & hassle anymore.

So yea, like Bryan said, I'm OFFERING to HELP. You're not required to go through me. Knock yourself out with any other method you'd like. But pay keen attention to why others who even LIVED in Japan still have parts there they're struggling to bring over.... And why when you buy from a DISTRIBUTOR here, sometimes they make you wait 8+ months for their once-a-year container shipment...

The other thing I'd say is, most of the stuff I get for ppl is directly from shops (Re-Amemiya, FEED, etc). I think I can say with confidence that I - as a single entity - have bought more from them than pretty much ANY vendor state-side. Which means that I've been able to arrange for pretty good discounts on large orders that I place with them directly, as I've done in the past. Ex, I was one of the LAST "new" customers Panspeed was willing to take a few years back (yep, they closed their doors to new customers). Got a bunch of their rare parts for US customers last year. Right now I'm working on finalizing the RE-Amemiya order.

I don't think you can get THAT kind of service with some basic Google translator ;)

Depends on the item. If it's a small/relatively light item, I can EMS it to ya. You typically have a few days to pay for the auction, then about a week to receive it. A few days to process & ship it, and about 3-4 days for you to receive it. So 2 weeks is like the FASTEST you'd EVERY receive something. But you'll also PAY for that express service.

As for the container shipment (which almost everyone is opting for), I'm looking for the container to depart toward the end of January, to hit our shores by the end of February/early March, to clear Customs in about 2 weeks, and then I need time to inventory and pack/ship stuff. So things should START to go out by the end of March/beginning of April if all goes well.

To most ppl, saving $800 on the cost of SHIPPING ALONE for a bumper is worth waiting those 3-4 months.

~Ramy

Close. HKS' sequential 6-speed dogbox was about $7500 new + shipping costs from Japan.

While it's def. one of the nicer units out there (but is high maintenance, FYI), also keep in mind that the FD transmissions (regardless of the gearset installed in the case) are limited by case design. So even if the gearset itself is good for tons of torque, the transmission case itself starts to fail around 400 - 500 ft-lbs of torque.
