Yep. First we'll need the keys of course then we'll get the details.

I'm in no real hurry to get these, just curious if we are going to get contacted via email or something when it comes time to pay shipping?

Also I don't remember seeing an answer my question about getting the keys pre-cut. What if a previous owner switched out the lockset and someone wasn't aware (meaning it doesn't match the vin anymore), is there any provision if the pre-cut key just doesn't work? or are they SOL? I wouldn't mind having them precut but it would be just my luck to be that guy .

I will post on the thread the additional shipping charges once they're known.

Sorry, but we can't assume responsibility for lock changes. The service is to have your key cut to the vin on your car. It's the buyer's responsibility to ensure that is the correct vin.

How about just sending us the key code based on our VINs? That way we can have a local locksmith cut a trial key with the code to be sure it works.

The sensible way to do it is to send out blanks and have your current and presumably working key copied onto the blank.

The available options are listed and won't change unless Ramy amends them. It's your decision.

Instead of worring about getting them vin cut, maybe just getting them would be nice :?

just wondering if there was any projection when they might arrive?

the whole point of the VIN cutting was to make a 100% clean cut key rather than copying one that may well be over 13 years old, as ramy stated in the post that offered this service

VIN could also result in a 100% wrong key

Hey guys,

1) I'm awaiting an ETA on the keys; hopefully we should have 'em in our possession (in Japan) shortly

2) Re: the VINs, if one cylinder goes bad, ppl typically replace that one, and have it rekeyed to match the original key, so you don't have one key for one lock and another key for all the other locks. So unless someone has replaced ALL the lock cylinders on your car, it's highly probably (and most likely) that you're all on the same original OEM key cut pattern. But again, we can't guarantee things like that, nor will be accept any such responsibility. I'm merely offering a service, which you must decide if it is in your best interest to utilize or not

Thanks,
~Ramy

sooo, just tossing this out there ... what if I were to have you guys VIN cut ONE of the keys I ordered, check to make sure it works, then have the other two done? or would that result in a much higher cost?

If you mean having them send you one, then send you the two others later it's probably not worth. You should just have them vin cut one, send the other two as blanks, then you can try it, and if it works, go down to local key shop, have them copy it off the vin one (so you arent copying an old one thats been worn down), and you should be good.
