Parts Prices???
My buddy girlfriend is over there in mainland japan she is in the air force i have been on her about finding me parts. Single turbos, headlights, ect. is it cheaper over there? Is it true that cars get chopped every 3 years because of outrageous taxes after a car is 3 years old? Im looking for a T51 or T78 and some C-west headlights can anyone tell my anything...
Thanks

a lot of the stories you hear about japan and cars are very old and not very true to start with
nowadays people here tend to change their cars before they are 10 years old and at about 15 years old cars are at their lowest price
so while a mint low mileage unmoded 1992 FD might go for $6000 you could almost pay $30,000 for a mint 2002 spirit R, in the greater scheme of things they are basically the same car IMHO and not worth that differential
for parts yahoo auctions is the way to go
BUT, even after 9years here i need my japanese wife to sort out the details as reading and dealing with stuff over the internet in japanese is very very tricky and time consuming for most non-japanese
ie if your girlfriend says it's too much hassle it's probably TOO MUCH HASSLE and if you keep pushing you may end up looking for more than a new turbo...
hook up with a business that specialises in buying that kind of stuff for on your behalf and then have her ship it back for you

I think we should have made a sticky out of that info on Japanese cars....
Yeah for you in the US, good luck on Yahoo no one will send it to you, if your friends GF gets it, it will still be pretty much impossible for someone on a BASE to get parts from Yahoo or even to understand how to.
There is a place online that will bet on ***** threw yahoo and send it to you, someone on here im sure can remember. Also prices here are only better on original parts from here. Turbos are cheaper in the US, C-west headlights were a dime a dozen in the US a fe years back so look a little.
C-west are LOSERS! I wouldnt use their ****** toilet even if they asked me to hehe
