Looking for a 3rd gen in Japan.

Hi guys I am new to the whole RX7 deal, I have owned a couple of 1st gens but just drove them and didn't do anything special to them. I am in the Air Force and just got orders to Misawa AB in northern Japan. I absolutely love the third gens and want to get one when I get there in July.

So talk to me, what am I looking for here? Anything special or to shy away from on certain years? What can I expect to pay for one? Give me the works here...

Trust (sn) or someone was just talking about selling his. I dont think he was on Misawa though. Anyhow it doesnt matter where you buy and FD if you are not interested in tinkering with it or actually if you do not realize that you will have to work on it if you like to drive it hard or enjoy it, then an FD might not be your best choice. If you really do like not only driving but also working on existing problems or problems to come with the car then you can find yourself a great FD no problem int he Misawa area. you can pick one up running with registration (shaken, i am not sure about jci or whatever the on base registration is called) for about 4,000 US dollars and above. I would say you are plenty safe with about 8 to 10,000 to spend on the car. only thing to watch out for is low compression ofcourse, rust, and any other typical issues.
Hope that helps
Tom
