I'm not a negative person, but people tend to ignore things like the closet racism. Then again some of it is pretty open when places have signs that say "No foreigners". If you are looking to "find yourself" because you are immersed in anime and Japanese "culture" you need to realize that isn't going to help you. Anime geeks are always the ones that seem to burn out the quickly when they realize Japanese people are not all anime and videogames.

Umm well you do sound pretty negative. Thats what traveling to another country is all about, you have a range of different experiences some which can be positive some can be negative. No its not the same as our home countries but i bet many Japanese find things that they dislike about traveling in America.

Well i dont know about your area, but i think Japanese are all into Manga and enjoy anime. Everybody either has or is into Manga.

Yes, Japanese some communities struggle with foreigners. This can be many things and shouldnt always be seen as a racsist thing. Many Japanese are afraid of speaking English. Every country in the world suffers from rascism and are only minorities in Japan.

I go out alot, almost every night i get random people buying me drinks and food. Many people are very interested in foreigner countries and the number of people that who have traveled overseas are far higher in Japan than America or Australia.

And for the record, ive never seen a sign saying "No foreigners".
