Feb 4th - RCCA Autocross

This is only a few weeks away, so get ready. If all goes well, look towards these becoming a monthly thing. Spread the word.



Here are the main details in the pre-registration document:

On February 4th the RCCA will be conducting an autocross event. It will be a timed event and not a heads up race. Only one car at a time will be allowed on the track. Details of all the rules will be covered at the drivers meeting.


Location:
The Bullring. Take the expressway to Exit 9 and take a left on 329 to go north. Continue north until you pass Camp Schwab. At the T intersection where 331 branches off of 329, turn right to get onto 331. The entrance to the site is almost immediately at this intersection. There are two gates to enter. Go through the left side. Spectators and event drivers will be pointed to their respective parking areas.


Pre-Registered Cost:
Members - 3000en
Non-Members - 4000en
Only yen will be accepted. Entry the day of the event is an additional 1000en.

When pre-registering, have exact change ready. Also, do not wait to the last minute to contact them as they might not be able to accommodate you at the last minute.


Be on site by no later than 1000
Registration and course walk from 1015 ~ 1045
Drivers meeting at 1045
First car starts at 1100
Last car off the track at 1600


Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers.
1st – 10,000en gift certificate from Sanjyo’s
2nd – 7,500en gift certificate from Sanjyo’s
3rd – 5,000en gift certificate from Sanjyo’s


What is required? A helmet. Car or street bike helmets only. Full shoes. No sandals.

Pre-Safety Inspection checklist to be carried out prior to arriving at the site:
Make sure wheel bearings are tight.
Battery solidly secured. No bungee cords.
Throttle return spring works.
Convertibles must have a rollbar at the minimum.
No loose objects in the cabin or trunk while on the track. Bring a means of storage for these items.
Tires must show a tread. At no time during the competition can they show cords, even if they passed inspection. Bring an extra pair of tires is this could be an issue.



No alcohol is allowed on the premises at anytime!

One week to go. This is the last week to get in touch with either Frank or Steve to pre-register. Take advantage of this because that'll save you 1000en upon entry. You can contact them about anytime that's within reason, of course. Frank will be out at the Mihama Jusco/American Village Starbucks on Friday night from 9:00pm to 10:30pm. That's the Starbucks at the intersection across from Tony Roma's.

Tonight a few of us got together to draw up the course. Went through many course designs and finally settled on one. It took a few hours, but I'm sure many of you will enjoy it.
