Thumbs up Ebisu Drift Matsuri 2012

Hey far easterners,

So the Ebisu Spring Drift Matsuri is coming up this May 5th & 6th.
I am planning to go and drive my FC, I will be heading up on friday or maybe saturday early morning.

Here is some info about what to expect or what you might need for the weekend:

My drift FC is basically stock engine wise so I do not burn through tires all that fast, probably because I only spend about 10-15 minutes out on the track before it is time to let the engine cool down since it is all stock cooling equipment. I would say I use a total of 6-8 tires in the weekend if they are used tires. I have not used new tires before so I do not know how long a set of new tires would last me. I use about a tank and a half through the weekend as well.

Damage: expect damage of some sort. The courses themselves are not that harsh but the run offs can be pretty harsh in some areas. If you do not know the condition of your clutch or have not ever changed it since you owned your car then I suggest changing it before the drift matsuri. I also suggest bringing any spare suspension parts you may have. I have bent an A-arm before but aside from that most of my damage came from me trying to scrape walls which usually resulted in me backing into walls hahaha. Lately the matsuri's have seen a lot more "missile" type cars like mine that are basically used as practice cars or throw away cars. There is still a majority of people driving with their street cars and it is possible to drive all weekend with out damage or without being caught up in a tsuiso drift train but that just is not as fun.

Any how if anyone is interested in going I figured we could make a list here and then we could work out details of the weekend in this thread. Such as sharing spare parts, tire sourcing, lodging/ camping, etc...

I may be able to work out group discount or early payment discount. They usually offer a cheaper price for early payment so I will check on what that price is for the 2 days of drifting on 5 or 6 of the tracks.

I figured more people would want to go. I'm all the way up north, though. maybe next year.

Meh, I have an Ebisu license and I'm an hour away, so I don't know why I would want to go to the Matsuris and deal with the massive crowds. There's already too many people on the drift courses to begin with. I'm not good enough at drifting (and my car isn't set up for it), so pretty much any traffic = too much traffic.

I LOVE me some Higashi/Nishi grip though. Still, I can't imagine actually going to the Grip Matsuri...
