New to welding. Hibachi.

Part of my Engineering Manufacturing class is learning how to weld. I'm also building a miniature steam engine. I'm more interested in the design side of things, but welding is hella fun.

This is a little Hibachi we're each doing as a side project. I did this my 2nd time on a MIG welder. We're also doing gas welding.

Welding is ok but it sucks when you do it daily for a production job. You tend to get burned out on it.

BTW: Remember to follow the "bubble" while welding. It will keep you from crystallizing the weld.

looks pretty good for your second time. all it takes to learn how to wire weld is knowing what the weld should look like, and how changing the feed rate and amperage affects the weld. after a lot of practice you'll get really nice and smooth. some people say to do half moons, some say circles. i find circles to be 10x easier and more natural for me.

just do a lot of practice on scrap metal of varying thicknesses.

Looking alright for a noobie... but from the looks of it you aren't getting proper penetration...

I am intrigued by your comment, would that be under a push style? I am no pro (thats why I am asking), but when I weld the bubble is behind. I guess I am doing a pull style

Looks good. Your travel speeds looks a little inconsistent and high in some areas, but will improve with some practice.

MIG is generally done pull, while flux core is generally push.
