This thread is for everyone near or in ROTA, SPAIN. Rota is a military town in the deep south of Spain. I have searched and there is no thread with this title, and they are out dated. We have a big community of Americans here because of the military base and there are many questions that come up when attempting to ship your RX7 here.
Currently my car is in the process of being shipped, it is Germany right now and is scheduled to land here in NOVEMBER 2015. I do not yet have experience with the ITV inspection or dealing with legal/customs. The car takes about 60 days to get here from SAN DIEGO. I will update this thread as time goes on and I learn more about my experience.
If you have ANY experience shipping your RX7(Only want to hear about 7s in this thread) then please tell your story and your experience so that people arriving here in the future may learn and experience a smooth transition.
I live in Spain, just in Membrilla, Ciudad Real, about 500kms of Rota.
In Spain we are few rx7 unfortunately, around 25-30 FD3S maximum speaking, although there are also a few second generation.
Are you going to bring the car to Spain? Do you want to enroll him or will you have to be for a short time? could help in any way possible.
UPDATE: I haven't been active here because my RX7 came off the boat as a paperweight. It started at the VPC, I fueled it up, drove it for about 5 minutes and it sputtered out and died. It has not started since then. I still cant figure out why, and there aren't any mechanics familiar with RX7s here in Rota. I have been here about 8 months now and I haven't seen any RX7s driving around. Only RX8s. If you happen upon this thread please feel free to hit me with questions. I am a reliable source until Sep 2017 when I transfer.
