I'd like one of those too... Might buy one someday, but right now, I just don't seem to have any money left at all... (how come???)

I had a r/c car project going on a few years ago, it was to make a rotary powered nitro TC, but the guy from my old workplace, who had to make the chassis never seemed to have the time
to CNC it

That pretty much my "plan"... I guess someday when I have time and money (when???), I'll build a chassis to accept the OS/Graupner rotary. I do have a 787B body that I would like to fit.

you'd need a beefy gearbox to take all that power ...

dohnuts are fun too my old tamiya 4x4 GT car could reduce a set of slicks to a cloud of smoke in minutes
the batteries didn't last too long though !!

The speed controllers got a current limiter thats meant to limit wheelspin ... I used to have it set to 50amps and it used to trip on carpet with minipin tyres (indoor racing tyres) I gave up on it in the end as its really really expensive. gotta love the tamiya kits I used to ahve the p1ss taken as they are heavy but I NEVER broke part of the chassis on that car (and I used to crash ALL the time !!! ) try that with a carbon fibre light weight !

Yeah, that RC engine is cool, it's just too bad it costs $500 US. Even if you didn't put it in a RC chassis, it'd be cool just to have.

Try Ebay.de, and search for "wankel". This usually brings up a few "OS/Graupner - NSU-Wankel motor" thingies...

First of all it has not got the rews, a rc car engine rews like 45' and this only 18. (=you need a gearbox with atleast three gears)

Second you need a lot of cooling (=airflow) around the whole engine, that is very hard in a car...

Third, yes it's a wankel but sounds quite boring ( a friend of mine hase one).

So, keep them in big cars, if you want a fast rc car use the 3,5cc eingines and a lot of nitro!!

Trust me I know... (follow this link to see what we have done ...... these egines rew almost 50'... )

Too bad. You'd think they'd be able to run a lot faster than their piston counterparts. I bet they are die-hard reliable, though. And, come on, if you could use one, what are the odds that anyone else you know is gonna have one?

Ok, IF i had the chanse to try out an OS rotay for the dragster, I would..
Hey, it's a PP how hard can it be to tune it up a bit?
Say enlarging the ports a little put a better exhauts ot it.. 50-70% nitro.. a higher gearing.. bigger carb..
So if anyone has money to sponsor me with the eninge.. I'll have a go!!!!

Guys, does anyone know where I can get spare parts for my Mugen Seiki? I need a drive shaft... And this car is not sold in Belgium=no parts...
If someone could help me, I'd be very happy.

Hope our very nice moderator (Higgi) does not kill us now as we are drifting way of topic..

Kim, I'll bring it.. I'll have big tractionproblems as we normally run on trackbite (as in real dragracing).. but wat the hell..

Rotary emotions, I'm pretty sure I can fix it for you.. how long is it?

I used to race 1/8 buggies for ten years and still got an old Mugen in the garage..

ok, I promised long time ago, but never managed because my friend didn't give me the pics I made (with his camera )
So start with this:
Model of a 1979 SA, 1/25 by Monogram. Modified by me. Made all plumbing (heating, brakelines, spark plu cables, battery cables, ...)
I even made some of those clips that hold the airfilter box together, aswell as the vaccum hoses.

these are 2 build models. The 767 isn't that good, I was rather young when build it.
the 787B is good, very tidy. But I'm now building a 787B with plenty of extra details. That'll be the next post

787B under construction. It now has selfbuild rear springs and dampers, self build stabilizer bar (not longer molded in one piece with the mounting plate), photo etched (scale motorsport) details as gasvalves, radiators etc... Will be fully plumbed. Right now spark plugleads are in place, and some other details. Driver figure is under construction, but already spots fabric seat belts.
Full carbon-decaled chassis. Oil lines are in place but must be finished
