Putting a Veilside kit on an FD = shameful. Putting a Veilside kit on a Spirit R = a hanging offense.

I'm moving this to the European forum, you can get more advice there on how to import an FD into your country.

It won't be easy to import a J-spec into europe... The only country where it can be done cheaply is the UK. It has/can been done in Germany, but it's WAY more expensive. The main concern seems the fact that they might not be legal emission-wise. You should really try to find out the rules in Cyprus about importing a non-EU car. A good alternative can be buying in the UK, but only if the car has been given UK-registration already. Officially it is then a EU-car. But again: check local laws first.
And one last thing: why a Spirit R? If you would put a Veilside kit on it, it'd best be resprayed anyway so why not any other FD???

hmm, wouldn't they in they UK too? again: check laws in Cyprus first about importing a car.
In theory, any car registered in ANY EU memberstate must be allowed to be registered in any other memberstate. So a UK registered car can be moved to, let's say, Belgium without it being moe expensive then buying a simular car in Belgium. That's the theory, however. Many memberstates are very good in riping off their citizens, aswell as screwing them up altogether. Making illegal taxes is a proffession, as is making useless paperwork. Overhere this results in a small extra fee for, let's say, a 1992-95 FD. Since it's homologated as such in Belgium, it's no problem importing one from another EU country. But once the car of choice (F.E. a 1996-up FD) has not been homologated in Belgium, it's WAY more complicated.

Please use english, sentences and some kinds of grammar. Your post looks like its coded and it takes reader about 3 times more to 'de-code' it into something understandeable. Thanks

If you feel its too much when dealer is earning 2-4k USD on $20k+ cars, you don`t understand rules of business. Dealers of new cars get usually 20% here (CZ). Thats something like $4K on $20K car. New Corvette C6 which cost something like $40K in USA, cost $80K here. Thats quite expensive 'shipping & handling', but thats the way it is.
Individual imports are usually way to get car cheaper. But if it was that easy, you would be importing lots of cars by yourself already and selling them cheaper than dealers you are talking about.

Don't they do the ESVA in liamosol (spelling) for cars coming into the UK? It might be worth going down there and asking who is importing them and how you can buy them.

I was in Cyprus last year, loved it

RX-7 into Cyprus

Mike,

Checkout

http://www.picknbuy24.com/

Thats what is available in Japan. As Cyprus imports so many Japanese cars, you mus be able to find someone in Limassol to sort the paperwork out, and get it to Cyprus for you.

You need to talk to other Rex owners in Cyprus about who knows where to get parts and service.

These are complex cars. Without support available locally, buy one that is as close to stock as posible and keep it that way.

I know anyway that the Astinomia have been confiscating heavily modified cars since the two kids were killed by someone pulling a wheelie on a bike and loosing it, so don't attract too much attention.

Check out recent posts on mazdarotaryclub.com about RX-7s in Cyprus
