Belgian Cosmo owner?

Yesterday i visited Van Herck Mazda dealer in belgium. He told me that some Belgian collector has bought a 3 rotor Cosmo for his collection and paid only 2000€ in Japan;

Well, I'm not being naive so I'll put a ? mark beind the story, but does someone know about this?
He should be in the Turnhout/Herentals neighbourhood (or at least in the state Antwerp)

I have heard there is somebody from the nsu-club in Holland who did the same thing in Japan - for approximately the same price - car is not here yet - they are looking for a nice second one to ship - shipping is about 2500eurs...

so, it is not that hard to buy one, it'll be harder to get the thing on the local roads - with regular registration plates...

Maybe... Shipping fee was about 1000€ they said. Which is quite normal (6 weeks container boat trip).

So yes Werny, what about registration? You could have it on the road as a 'alleenstaand voertuig'. So you better put on some bits and pieces before you have it registrated and checked

I was hesitating to bid on a UK 20B Cosmo 2 weeks ago. Sold for about 4000pounds.
This seems cheaper though...

UK one would be better bet though. Shipping from UK would obviously be less expensive then from Japan, and more important: import taxes from UK are 0.00 €. And if it's a good car, you can just drive it home. Plates are a bit of a mistery. Officially, a car registered in the UK must be *easy* to register here, but with Belgian governement, it might mean quite some paperwork.

If the story is right those cars would be registered on Belgian plates for 99€ (plus the "normal" belgian taxes etc)??? If that's true I'll someday need a cosmo too...
Still wondering about documents for a 20B though. The engine is a 2 liter, but might be a 4 liter too. Makes a few euro's difference...
