Hey all,
As you can see this is my first post on the boards, but just wanted to stop in the euro forums and say hi.
Im in the US Army stationed in Belgium at the moment. Im currently in the market for a US Spec FD so if anyone is PCS'ing and wants to sell, drop me a line
Currently ive got a Euro spec CRX VT that im selling this month, so its time to finally get the car ive been drooling over for years :P
Anyways, hello everyone, im glad to be here.

FD's are rather hard to come by in Europe as is, let alone US-spec ones. If you're going to be there for long enough, you can probably have one sent to you from the US on the military's dime.
Have fun in Europe. I know I did.

Good deal, fd owners have a rep to fix out here in the RX7 community (In Germany). The last few were major dicks and very anti-social. Hopfully you will be mutch nicer than the last few. Mabey you will be up for our traditional summer time sunday drives into the German mountain sides.

I'm not worried about the base inspection. Its the one I have to get when I get it at the shipping facility. The German one. I think I can pass it because the car is completely mechanically sound but its loud as hell and its a PITA to get started and idling correctly. I'll have my laptop with to swap out maps but it takes about 10 mins of running before you can let off the gas (no cold start left in the car). Once its up to temp it idles fine. The clutch is also a bit tricky if you don't know what your doing. The limited slip is set to full lock so you spin the tires if you don't know the trick to it. Basically I'm worried they won't say its safe for the streets because they can't drive it and the 4 inch open exhaust will blister your ears.
The turbo is also loud as a freaking jet engine when it spools so that doesn't help. I can cripple the car when they get it so its not so bad, I'm just a little nervous.

Ahhh I just saw your from Texas. This means your going to the place on Mockingbird Lane? BTW on base inspection my not be that easy. There is this dude we have nicknamed Zee German that does the inspections. He is real fickel about the cars that come thru. This guy is worse than a Cali inspector somtimes. He tried to call me out for having no cats on my FC. I came back later when my friend was working and slid thru... I guess doing audio installs does come in handy.

I met a guy on here that said he would help me out with the base inspection. Either way I don't care. This is not my daily driver and I don't have to take it on base to do anything but work on it. If they won't let me do that I'll just work on it in my garage. I just want to be able to drive on the Autobahn, etc... with it. Nothing like feeding a Ferrari humble pie

I'm new to the forum community also. i just moved to ramstein bout three months ago. the base inspection list is pretty small, no need to pop the hood, just a lookover on lights and exhaust leaks, thats pretty much it.

Well.... Ill talk to Kron because he took his car to Mikes Garage and he seemed to know rotarys. Otherwise you will have to do it yourself because just like the states either the mazda dealers dont know or refuse to work on our cars.

I was me (Eric) that left the note, but I could have sworn that it was on a black TII with the friggin' huge tach.......And as for a compression test......you have 2 choices. Either take it to Mike because he's about the only one that I trust to touch my car besides Mireck (who lives in Holland). Or you could take it to Mazda Becker and stand over them as they do the compression check and don't, for the love of God, let them touch anything else. Mazda Becker = teh suk. And let me know if you need and S4 TII parts cuz I got lots..........
