Yippie, Link Section in just a few days!

just received a PM from the Boss here and as soon as he is able we are enabled.

unless i am really nutso (and i wouldn't rule that out) i think the Link Section will have, going forward in 2012, the second largest number of hits in the ECU section.

maybe our battle cry s/b "Link, we're number TWO"

hopefully i will receive my Extreme, 4 bar Link MAP sensor and DisplayLink this coming week.

i will share an install thread, as well as all my tuning/maps/dyno stuff.

That's great news Howard. Can't wait to see how you make out. Now if we can just get them to add a ProEfi section while they are at it.

Im interested in this. My turbo BMW buddies run stock ecu and are pushing 700+hp. The tuner, Nick G, says as he monitors is knock. He runs the motor comfortably at any boost level and really always says his secret is the stock ecu ability to adjust when it sees knock.

monitoring and having the ECU instantly re-adjust fuel and timing will not solve all the world's problems but even in a more demanding situation w the rotary it will be a big help.

Howard, you'll have to get some pictures of your unboxing.

good to hear howard! let me know how the display link goes (and what price you got it for if you dont mind? pm maybe) that is the one thing i miss about the pfc. i do like the fact that i will be able to log a lot more parameters and have one single unit doing the job of multiple other electronic devices' however!

unfortunately i guess i will miss the unboxing as it went from under my pillow on the first night straight into my car where it is half wired in. i hope to be fully wired by the end of today/friday. it does fit nicely in the stock location.

i am optimistic that the admin will find, finally, enough time this weekend to enable the Link-ViPEC section and i expect i will be able to successfully lobby him to do a ProEFI.

i also am suggesting he re-order the section. my proposal is that the specific management subsections appear sequentially based on number of reads per quarter.

TPS wiring:

if you look at the TPS itself (not the plug) you will see 4 posts which are vertical.

top post call 1
bottom post 4

top post (1) is wired to "A" plug green ground wire to ECU (OE is 4D)
post 2 not used
post 3 is 5 volts wired to "A" plug red/blue (OE is Br/W 3I)
post 4 is signal wired to "A" plug yellow/blue (OE is B/grey 3G)

caveat: not yet running, i have a V88 but i think other Links share same wiring, i am pretty sure the Xtreme does, not sure on others)

i am highly optimistic we will have our section soon, delay due to Admin being super busy w job.

i suggest you PM our Admin Mar3.... i have numerous times and have received assurances but no results in 14 weeks.

i am now actually wiring my FD for the V88. i decided to remove entirely the two primary harnesses.

things are progressing and i expect at some point Mar3 will find the time to get it done.

i will be lots more active w re to the install going forward.

howard, i have mine fully installed (right upto the female connectors for some sensors like map oilp and fuelp), just waiting on some primary injector clips to power up and test it. look forward to seeing your progress, which two primary harnesses are you referring to?
