Stand Alone ECU

I have been checking into these stand alone computers lately... They are surprisingly cheap, if you want to build it yourself... Is there any suggestions on which one is best to get the most out of an '89 NA and is there any instructions on how to build it for your car?
Also... I would like to convert my car to a twin turbo eventually... Seems that I am new to all of this and would not know what to do with it if you installed the turbo for me; I need to know if you can build this computer to have an optional turbo eventually... I guess where you could flip a switch basically and the computer recognizes the turbo...
Last... Would this computer COMPLETELY replace the factory computer...?

Thanks,
Randal

the megasquirt n' spark system is a great "build it yourself" standalone. I dont really have any personal experiance with it, but theres a whole section on this site dedicated to it. its relatively cheap too. good luck

All stand alone ECU's replace the factory computer, that is why they are called stand alone ECUs. Your looking at a pretty expensive stand alone if your wanting twin turbo control. You'll prolly have to go with a Motec for that.
