Something to run ignition only for my carbed nitrous setup???

Heres the deal - I have a carbed 12A and would like something a little more "user friendly" than stabbing different distributors (1 with advance and 1 locked) each time I want to use nitrous. I am wanting something that gives me the option of using something like a stock setup, such as advancing timing and then simply change to a different setting to where it is now locked at a certain setting.

I'm thinking something along the lines of ECU, S4 CAS, S4 leading coil, and no trailing (not sure if this would matter or not). Does this sound like something that would work or am I way off base here? Im honestly looking to spend as little as possible but still using high quality products (if that makes sense). Inexpensive, not cheap.

Thanks for any ideas.

Im thinking I didnt explain very well.

I am wondering what system (wether its an EMS or simply specific MSD brand items) that would be able to let me change the timing on my engine on the fly. Also what other items would be needed (such as CAS) to make it all work.

Thanks

It appears that MSD has a programmable 6AL-2 which has a built in retard function for boosted or nitrous setups. There is also a retard only box but requires 6 series MSD or up box to work with it. Gonna have to give them a call and see what they say would work best for my setup (being one of those weird rotary doo-hickies). I'll update with what they say.

OK , I have not called MSD. However, I did read the instructions for the MSD 6530 (programmable 6AL-2). It is definitely what I am needing, with a few extras that I may use such as rev limiter, etc. The fact that it is programmable means I simply lock my current distributor and then set my own advance curve. I can then have it set to when specific wires see a 12V signal (such as arming nitrous or pressing my line lock button) it will retard timing up to 30 degrees total or engage seperate rev limiters (for burnouts or launch control). Very cool stuff.

I read the instructions on Summit Racing's website.

I hope this info can help someone else down the road... Oh yeah the retail price is 350-410 USD depending onwhere you buy. Direct form MSD is the high number and Summit and Jegs sell them for the lower number.

Edit: Forgot to say that you can also set the retard curve to start abruptly or with a transitional ramp (set to how fast or slow you want) starting at a certain RPM.
