A simple Question about timing
I am curious what others are running for timing.
If you have a map for 1 bar let me know what your ignition timing is at 6,000 RPM.
I have a map done by a tuner on my car a while back and my timing seems a bit aggressive to me.
At 6K RPM and at 1 Bar I a running 19.5° BTDC.
Thank you in advance for your input.

Yeah, that is slightly on the more aggressive side, but not unreasonable.
Rule of thumb - I think - is 15-degrees total advance.
I've heard of people dropping down to 12-degrees, but these are ultra high boosting engines up to like 30psi!
The key is to worry about the ignition advance more at *peak torque*.
This is when the engine is most likely to see damage from overly aggressive ignition advance.
I mean 6kRPM peak torque is possible with a big port motor?
Got dyno sheets?
You can always back the ignition timing down, since you don't lose that much power backing down a few degrees.
