Quick PFC Q

Are the base maps pretty much the same ones the stock ECU uses? Thanks.

I don't believe so from what I have seen.

Only way to check this would be to suck the basemap from the stock ECU and compare it to the basemap like the 7.07version.

From what I have seen in comparing (AFR) the same stock car with stock ECU then with PFC, the values and behavior changed. Still alot of variables, but enough difference to form my opinion.

Hmmm... I plan on buying and installing one as soon as I get this car, but I don't have time to get it tuned right away. Anyone know what the maps are designed for?

I believe the current version is shipping with the "base mod" map. I've seen that this is supposed to support an intake, downpipe, cat-back, and IC. If you run it on a mostly stock car, it will probably be a little rich, with possibly retarded timing compared to the stock ecu. That said, the stock ecu is rich as hell. Still, if you're not going to get it tuned right away, what's the point of installing one in your car if you're close to stock?

The PFC is an easy install. I just wanted to know for furture reference what it needed to run properly. I know I'm going to need a computer down the road, so why not go for broke? That's why I also plan on getting a V-Mount. No half-assed for me.

People getting the V-mount suck....

I will go that route at some point but will "make do" with my PFS SMIC and intake and Fluidyne rad in the mean time...
