Problem with backfireing after wideband install please help trying to tune.

I just got the LC-1 wideband with 02 sensor installed in my car. right now im using it with the emanage and e-01 until the pfc comes in. The car is single turbo, with a street port. The o2 sensor is mounted at the end of the downpipe. The midpipe and catback arent installed yet.

The problem i'm having is when i try to start the car the car backfires really loud at the end of the downpipe. I believe because it's a heated sensor, that some of the gas fumes are running through unburnt and the o2 sensor is igniting them. I need to tune the car, and it seems i must need to take fuel out of the maps cause its not burning completely. But i dont know how and i cant tune without the wideband.. what do i do? Should i put a switch on the lc-1 power wire and keep it off until the car is running? So far the backfiring doesnt seem to have hurt anything, but it just doesnt sound like it could possibly be good, sounds like gun shots, made my ears ring a little even.. anyways help if u can.. thanks, -brent

I would definitly put the whole exhaust on.those flames could be burning anything under your car.I don't know about the heated sensor but would maybe try a different kind.

Uh, you're trying to run no exhaust?
That's your problem.

No, it has nothing to do with the O2 sensor.
