Platinum Sport worth twice the Power FC?

Looking at adding standalone to my S5 TII. Interested in both the PS1000 and the Power FC. I am currently running a street ported motor, 3" Racing Beat through the Presilencer and N1 Duals back. Intake open as much as possible with AFM. Stock turbo for now because of ECU and getting ID720/ID1000 to put in with new ECU. Shooting for somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 WHP. I am wanting to keep the OMP since I daily drive the car. That being said I have heard the Haltechs had trouble ignition trouble with the FC and something about noise.

Is there any reason the Haltech is worth twice the price of the Power FC? I say twice because I have access to a package deal on the Power FC with base map and necessary sensors for just under $900.

Noise can affect any EMS, especially when installed and set up by a novice. You should be OK just as long as you don't try to set it up youself.

They are about the same price for a TII RX-7 application. Typical pricing as of this date:
$1,650 Haltech PS 1000, flying lead, 3-bar MAP sensor, and boost control solenoid.
$1,650 PFC, Commander, Banzai S5 RX-7 adapter, and Datalogit.

The base map is only for driving the car to your local professional tuner. Make sure the adapter harness is for an S5 RX-7. If it is the Banzai adapter, you will also need to source an extra FC trailing ignition coil pack if it is not included in the package. http://banzai-racing.com/store/S5_PFC_adapter.html

Don't buy any injectors until you know what will work with your new ECU. An injector combo of 720/1000 injectors is cutting it really close for your power goal. You may want to talk to your tuner about that.

You should use the EMS that your tuner thinks will meet your needs. If your tuner thinks that both the PS 1000 and PFC will meet your needs and it just comes down to a money issue, the PFC will be a little cheaper because of the special deal that you found, and you will not need to pay $350-400 for a Datalogit if your tuner can use his own. It used to be that you could also save money by not buying the Commander, but all of the PFCs that I have seen for sale lately include the Commander.
