OMP controll

I have a 13BRE, regardless of what engine it is, do any of these standalones control the OMP system, and if so has anyone done it with a BRE yet? given that's it's MUCH larger and only has two ports into the housings and none to the intake runners.. I'd like to get this working. 7stock this year it was pointed out just how poorly premix actually works. I'd like to avoid a premature rebuild.

you can adjust the OMP as to how much oil is injected with the power fc. dont ask me how, my tuner does all that crap for me.

There is a Map in the AEM that lets you map OMP Duty against Mass Air Flow ... i think... anyhow there are several settings for the OMP and they work a bit to well on the basemap... 2Qts of oil Per Fillup of Gas....

I still ned to adjust them... according to sources a "7" should run 1 qt. per 2-3K Miles or Per Oil Change...

Can you detail what it was that was pointed out that shows how poorly premix works? Strangely, all the professional race teams (that I know about) that run rotary use premix.

If you don't know what the oil metering pump does, I don't suggest disabling it.....

FYI, the OMP supplies oil to the internal parts of the rotary engine. Pre-mixing is adding 2-stroke oil to your gas tank to lubricate the internal engine parts that way. Personally, I would rather rely on the time-tested method that Mazda came up with.....

Oh boy, another premix thread, with Ted! Sweet.

Over winter my GXL will be premix only, no MOP.

There are a few canadian guys who run premix (only, no MOP at all), PPC-Racing. Next meet you should make sure to bring it up into discussion with them! It's very enlightening.

Infact, the Mazdee's (sponsored) AE86 has a N/A Carbed 13B. It was at driftnation show in Brampton. I got a good look at the motor, they are premixing as well. The Mazdee's guys have alot of experience and knowledge under their belt. I don't think they'd jump into it headfirst with no knowledge on the topic.

Good discussion here:
