New HKS Unit?

I just took a trip down to my neighborhood HKS store the other day to see if there's anything I could get a better deal on anything or find something that's unavailable in the states. I came across a new stand alone ecu unit much like the Power FC. It came with a commander type remote display too. I talked to the manager and he said it had just come out and it wasn't in the states yet. I got online and I couldn't even find it on the Japanese website, although I can't read most of the simplified characters, so I could have missed it. The ECU box itself had Air-Fuel-Knock written on it as well as on the commander. According to the manager, programming is pretty simple and can be done without the use of computer software which it comes with. The pricing of the unit was around US$1000 but lao ban told me he'd give it to me for about 800 if I'm doing the installation myself. He's gotta teach me how to program it and all. I still have to make sure that it will be alright with the lower octane fuel in the states though.
Does anybody else out there know anything of this new HKS stand alone unit? If its really what they're saying it is, then its gonna cut my engine management expenses in half. I'll see if I can't take a digital camera with me next time I go in the store.
