Need some help please...
I have a 93 FD with the following mods:
GReddy CatBack Exhaust
Pettit Racing Stainless Steel Downpipe
The car runs pretty good. I do not have a boost gauge yet. (I am getting one soon) So I do not know how much boost I have.
The problem is weird idle and strange acceleration. If I accel normally, when I let off of the gas to change gears the car slows really quickly. Not to a stop or anything, but more than I think it should. When I accel quickly it does not seem to be as bad.
Does anyone think I need an ECU for the 2 mods I currently have?
Would it be better to get an ECU or the GReddy piggyback fuel control thing?
Thanks for the tips!

Hi,
Anytime you open things up like you did will cause the turbo to spool up quicker and make more power in the process.. IF you want to keep it simple and want a little more power, buy a chip. It will support what you have plus dis-able the fuel cut....The chip will alter the fuel and ignition MAPS and then raise the boost level to a safe level, giving you a good bump. Now if you want extreme, you could look at the stand alone computers. But remember there only as good as the tuner....Chips work good if you want to keep it simple...I have a Wolf EMS unit, but there alot to choose from now...Also, a better fuel pump would help too....Bosch makes a pump for 179.00 that supports 575rwhp..I have two of them buggers.....
Always here to help!!

Sorry to sound stupid, but what do you mean by "A Chip"? Are you referring to the ECU or a different thing?
Thanks again. I am still pretty new to all of this so I appreciate the help.
