Labor for engine Rebuild

Hey guys,
Doesn't anyone know how much I should expect to pay for labor for an engine rebuild in an 88 RX-7 convertible? I'm in Brooklyn, and I can't seem to find a decent honest mechanic.

~18 hours of labor time. That's for the rebuild. I'm not sure if that includes engine removal. But if that's at $100/hour... you're looking to spend around $2500. If not more...
