Knightsports 4BEATFD ECU
Hi all. I have a question for some people that know for sure about this. I have a J-spec knightsports ecu that i recently got. I want to know if this will work in my US-spec car. If you have any experience with this delima please respond.
Thanks
Jeremy

Bro, You finally got it ?
Does it have a gas grade printed on it ?
I would take it to the dyno and hook it up to the wideband and see how it goes.. with a stock cat you MIGHT flood the engine more often.. Happened to myself and to scott and even Brian... So be careful.. it would suck to get stuck.. I suggest a can of quick start till you know it works
Is it a 93 ? Im guessing Japan has different emmisions standards/controls

hmm With that you might be extra careful... I say go for the midpipe... im not going to sell you on a cat... So just do it!
BTW. If you bring it with on thursdaynight... i may be able to get you some chips from Scott ( slopoke).. He has some milder ones..a nd if they work ( I think they will!) then you can just have pettit make you some! I think that would be easier and safer....
But if you bring it and a good screw driver on thursday we might be able to compare ( assuming mine arrives by then!)

Yeah sure why not ill bring it. Ive already opened it once to see if its really all knightsports if you know what i mean. Its got some kind of daughter board inside thats knightsports and 2 chips. Only bad thing is the case is pretty ugly, not beat up just discolored but the guts look new. I emailed knightsports with the question and im waitin for them to get back to me. They emailed me back once already but they needed the serial # to know what the program was. I thought u already had a pettit ecu? Why did you buy another? well anyhow ill see you thursday.

the first pettit was sold to scott aka Slopoke! I needed the $$ to get a project of mine off of the ground.. Then I found a replacement one the otherday... And after seeing it i jumped on it!
its a world of differences between the 2, The aftermarket one makes sooo much torque! Ill speak to scott and see if i can get him to part with those chips! then you can run all your stuff till you get everything setup! The setup of all aftermarket ecu's is the same... The only difference is the chips!Well actually the programming! Some have more ***** to sell leaner setups! Scotts spare chips OWN! they made the car feel so torquey!! I cant wait to get this new one
Cheers Jonathan
Ps: here is a look inside the pettit ecu!

Scott has extra's.... When I sold him the ecu i have him 2 extra's... So he has a limited setup and he runs the unlimited! The only limit is the boost max's @ 14.. his runs unlimited now! They are probably sitting in the box i gave him... i talk to him often.. Ill try pry em for ya!

Hello guys how are you?
I know about knightsports very much because I'm Japanese.
Will you guys try to take off chip and rewrite map?
I think it impossible because last time when I asked president of knightsports Mr. Nakamura about this he said so.
Because I'm using G-force rom right now and want to change only chip to knightsports.
He said these chips is locked by password when these are made.
If you want to try rewrite chip or put the other chip. go ahead to try!
But I don't recommend to do.(Data might to gone)
If you don't need this CPU in the future, let me know.
My Japanese friend is looking for it.
Thanks.
