Hi I'm new but got ?
I was wondering, I know that a lot of 7 owner there have run many types of Stand alone ECU. So here's my question to all the 7 owners. Which Stand alone ECU is easies to program, affordable, and doesn't have any problems at all? B/C I going to used this ecu for street and strip. I was thinking of using two disk and save two different program in each disks. So I can load the strip for the track and street disk for the normal drving.
A little information would not hurt. oh yeah please not smart commite like (SEARCH BUTTON and ECT.) I got that from a lot of Supra owner and that's why I bought a RX7 Twin Turbo instead of a Supra. Plus many supra owner are very cocky.
Thanks

Hey mate,
By far the easiest is the Microtech, very shortly they will have a plug and play for a 3rd gen rx7, you would simply unplug your stock computer and plug in the microtech, this will allow you to control everything, the plug in ecus control the oil pump as well so no worries there at all,
they come loaded with a base map to suit your car so you simply plug in and drive away to the dyno for fine tuning.

Before the EMS war begins, I would like to add that AEM and Wolf also have new plug & tune products for the FD, and the Apexi PFC has been available for some time now. I would also like to point out that the current Microtech products are easier to tune because they are less robust than most of the other EMS products. Given your criteria of simplicity, affordability, and cohesion, you would probably prefer the Microtech or PFC. There are other more advanced EMS products on the market, but they are more expensive and/or very new and still have some bugs to get worked out. Even the "lower-priced" standalones are still a lot of money, so please browse our forums and investigate other EMS products before you spend your hard-earned cash. Please note that a lot of people on this forum sell EMS and other automotive products for a living, so take that for what it is worth.
Don't take the "Search Button" comments personally. People who reply as such are simply trying to help you by saying that a particular subject has been covered thoroughly in the past and that a search will yield better information than they could possibly write in one post, or that it is going to take some research to find an answer to your question. Also, how you ask a question has a lot to do with the responses you will get, and sometimes it is difficult to understand or convey one's context on an internet forum.
BTW, you may want to consider using a more informative subject line, as the smarter people on this forum tend to ignore posts with non-specific titles. However, please continue to add your car's intended use as this helps to understand your situation, and not enough people seem to realize the importance of this information. Specifying uses like drag race, road race (aka speedway), street, rally, show, etc., is probably the greatest help.

thanks alot
Like I was saying I'm using this for daily use and when a drag race event comes by I would take it to the track and run too. So I don't want to waste money on a Stand Alone ECU that's cann't do what I want it to do and cost a lot of money and time on tuinning it. But I apperiated the time and effort of all the Forum memeber here. I'm planning on got with a T78 kit, fmic, koyo rad, summit oil cooler, oh yeah I also bought a brand new 13B 4 port motor too, 1300 cc injector for secondary. 850 cc for primary, have inline fuel pump holley push 114lb/min I think, fuel regulartor, and the usually gauges. But My goals is 400 ft/lb troque to the wheels.
thanks

just to let you know i dont sell ecu's for a living, i sell them to help people out. i have a full time job in a multi national company that takes up most of my time!! i need more time for cars!!
the microtech sounds like what you want, easy install, good price, will control everything you want, can swap between 4 maps sotred on the handset or laptop dongle with the press of a button (i dont think the other ecu's can offer this execpt the haltech e11 which is still very very buggy and over twice the price and can only store 2 maps) , and is one of the eaisest ecu's to tune, and comes with a base map supplied for your motor so you can start and drive to the dyno
