I cant decide between the two i have an "81 rx and am puting a "89 13bt into it, i am wondering your guy's thoughts on which one is a better system for my setup.

either the TEC3 from electromotive or the e6k, or maybe the new e11 from haltech dont know, what way i should go.

Thanks for the help!!

I would go with the electromotive hands down due to the accuracy of the ignition system(They guarantee no one has more accurate timing), plus it comes with it's own ignition system, no need to buy any other ignition amplifiers or anything like that. If you want you can read this thread discussing the Haltech vs. Electromotive issue:

LOL, that's funny, like I said before, Electromotive has the most accurate ignition system out there, and THAT'S what matters!

Actually what matters, is the installer, and the tuner. If you crank dial is on wrong your superior ignition system isnt worth jack.

Get the Haltech.

So I assume that means the little problem of the TECII losing its ignition settings when the system is powered down has been fixed in the TECIII?

I don't like to brag about which ecu is the best Because there are so many variables that are involved. But from my experiences i wasn't happy with electromotive. i have installed both tec 2's and tec 3's. And for the money you spend on these units i felt like it just wasn't what i expected. These units are not cheap either. The tec 3 will cost you well over $2k by the time you get everything you need. And this is not including install and tuning. But everyone's opinion is different, I expect that.

But for my favorites, definitely Haltec and Accel DFI. They seem to be more understandable to install & tune, fair prices, and are bullet proof boxes. I have yet to get a hold of an E11 but i bet it's awesome. Hopefully the Gen 7 DFI will support rotaries soon. I know there planning something for the springtime. They're boxes are simply awesome. For piston motors it's all i ever use. For Rotaries, Haltec.

By the time your done buying an ignition system that's really good for the Haltech you've already spent the same or more than the amount you mentioned, plus it's another thing to be concerned with. As far as variables go, I know that you can run NO SPLIT(make more HP) with a Electromotive at high of boost and a shot of NOS which is when ignition accuracy, and strength comes into play, with Electromotive it's DEAD ON, and there's no need to split the timing to "make sure" it's ok. If you need more proof of what Electromotive can do SAFELY(which is most important), you can also see what it's done for this car:

Hey Rx794.

I bet your recommending a product you don't even own on your own car. IF this is true, and i believe it is, how could you possibly say electromotive is the best?

OK, so when did you NEED to have a product on your own personal car to give your opinion on something? I've used Electromotive and know about how it works, and seen how it functions on some of my friends cars(same thing with the Haltech). I'm just here stating the FACTS of what I know!, NOT what I assume, that's all. I didn't mention anything about Electromotive being the best in anything other than having the most accurate and IGNITION system, but if you want in my opinion yes it is the best, and that's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. You believe what you want and that's your business, good luck.
