Thumbs up Emanage Ultimate Whipped!

I've got the emanage ultimate installed on an 88 T2 and the MAF meter out. Target A/F working excellent. I have an Airflow output map built that should work as a baseline for all T2's, which is the toughest thing to build and be able to get the MAF meter out. Although there are a few things wrong with the install manual, i've contacted greddy about them and hopefully they will be corrected soon. If you have the ultimate or are thinking about installing an ultimate on your T2, drop me a line if you would like my maps or need any help with the install. stephen.

Don't know about the harness difference b/w the blue and the ultimate. You do need all 3 available harness's. You need a wideband O2 sensor. I recommend the AEM one. You also need the harness for the wideband to connect it to the option 1 output port. You will need the greddy pressure sensor which will connect to the option 2 output. i'm out, stephen.

I got the computer and all harness's used off ebay for 480. The AEM wideband is about 270 new on ebay. The wideband option harness is 30 bucks new. Hope this helps, stephen.

All brand new would easily break $1,000...
That's getting into Haltech / Microtech territory.

Wink

You including the wideband in that number you got? Because that's the only way to get close to 1000 and you will need the wideband with any management system, unless you don't care to see your A/F's. stephen.

I don't need no stinkin' widebands.
I tune with EGT gauges no problems.

I'm up for anything. Do you think that's more accurate than wideband or about the same? Maybe i'll do both. stephen.

Could you please send me your AFM output map to shep_fc3@slcrotary.com. I am very interested to take a peek at it. I will host it up for other to download also. Thanks! Have you tried out the auto-tune on the ultimate yet?

lol the old fashion tune with egt, we freaking did that a long time here where we live, people say that is better with wideband though but i always have a close look at the egt nonetheless.

HI there- I have my emanage ultimate fully wired and I'm having difficulty getting it running cleanly. I have all the options installed including an EGT gauge. (greddy map sensor and PLX devices wideband connected to the option ports) If you could send me that Airflow Output map to robslessor4@hotmail.com I'd be really grateful! What channel are you using for the open loop operation when under boost? Thanks.

If there is anyone on this forum who actually knows how to wire an EMU, I have a few questions:
1. what documentation did you use to wire the EMU- because the stock instructions are a joke.
2. who do you contact for help when the thing runs like a bag of ****? Because I'll call Greddy west and no one is able to help me there. Apparently no one on staff speaks english that can help and everyone else in tech has no experience with rotaries...

My 89 vert is having an engine build at the moment, but I will be fitting the Ultimate in when I get it back.

I have a couple of questions:

1) I was thinking of using the Analog In / Analag Out pair with the stock MAP sensor, to effectively build an FCD fom the analog map in the Ultimate. I will be using a GM 3 BAR sensor on one of the option inputs to correctly map the extra fuelling needed. Is anyone doing this already, or do you not bother with stock MAP signal ?

2) I want to run a cooling mist water pump from one of the spare injector channels - can the outputs drive the pump directly (mappable) or do I need to use a relay to drive the pump motor ?

3) The manuals mention Channel A and Channel B Injector outputs - but I can't see from my manuals which pins these are on ? Anyone got any info on what pins these are available on ?

Thanks,

Prof.

Sorry for all the questions on a first post !

Not me!

I get my car back on Wednesday and will be fitting the eManage Ultimate in soon afterwards. My car is a Turbo II convertible with a street ported engine and rebuilt hybrid turbo.

It will be getting larger secondaries and possibly larger primary injectors, and a bigger intercooler with water spray and water injection for aided cooling.

Hope to get close to 300 RWHP.

Once the run in period for the new engine is done 1000 miles (1 month) I will start the tuning and report back any useful info on this site.

My cabling will be done as in the attached document.

The emanage will be controlling the Electric RAD fan (failsafe thermostat in parallel), water injection, and water spray. The intake temp warning relay will drive an LED and cut power to the boost solenoid leaving it spring boost only in the event of intake temps getting too high.

Has anyone called Greddy in Cali and asked for any help on a rotary? I did! No one there was able to help me. Apparently no one there has any experience with rotaries. I asked if perhaps they could send me a base map and they said yes, 4 months ago. No base map has arrived yet.
I have my emanage ultimate running the car now, but I'd really like some feedback on tuning! Seems like no one out there is using one on a rotary!
