EIP Tuning Stand Alone

Anyone used one of these stand-alones in an RX-7? What are your thoughs as compared to some of the more used stand alones, such as the Haltech or Microtech?

I'm just wondering as a friend of mine says they are $300 less then a Haltech.

That is an Electromotive TEC3. See this recent thread:

The TEC3 normally sells for about $1850 USD, which is about even with the Haltech E11, while the Haltech E6X is about $1,150. If you want something cheap, the Microtech LT8 sells for under $900 USD.

Evil is right, Microtech might be more up your alley if you want cheaper than Haltech.. As far as for EIP themselves they can eat a d*ck..(Bad experiance with them, long story short they blew my FD's transmission)

I need to speak up and recommend against dealing with EIP. I've had several run ins with their customers and NONE have had a good word to say about them. The one thing that seems to stand out in all the conversations I've had, If you've got alot of money, and you look fairly gullible, they will be your best friend as long as you keep writing the checks, and signing the credit card receipt.

I agree, I being one but I've ran into a bunch of VW enthusiasts(some of club H2O out of MD) and they've confirmed my thoughts of them being shady.

Their fabricators know what their doing, and IMO are pretty good. However when other VW tuners have to mark cylinder heads before they send them to EIP to be ported, insuring they get the same heads back and not cracked ones, etc. You know there's a serious problem with them.
