Hi,

I'm looking for a good generic book on engine management systems. I'm interested in the details of sensors, fuel maps etc. Looking for something intermediate to advanced.

There's one on tuning that's highly rated on Amazon and it might be OK if it also explains the theory of operation in detail also -

How to Tune and Modify Engine Management Systems (Motorbooks Workshop)

Another one is -

Understanding Automotive Electronics, Sixth Edition (Sams Understanding Series)

I have read the first of those 2 books and I would highly recommend it for someone looking for information on sensors, some theory, real world applications, and a basic idea of how to go about tuning an engine. I would say this book is at an intermediate level. Very good Read

 

I've read a bunch of the book out there and "How to Tune and Modify..." is the best I've read bar far. Greg Banish's "Engine Management: Advanced Tuning" is also supposed to be good but I haven't read it yet.

I picked up my copy at Borders.

I also have "Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management". Not nearly as useful, and there's basically no mod info.
