Autronic SM2 20B wiring

hey there,

I've just bought an Autronic SM2 for my 20B->FD conversion, and am looking for some hints on how to set it up. Its a v1.92 chip so i'll be firing the L + T plugs together.

Should the ecu be in 2 or 4 stroke mode and how many cylinders should i specify? How do I wire the ignitors and injectors? what should the crank trigger disc look like?

any help is greatly appreciated!

thanks,

Rob.

Rob,

Enzo will be the best help as he was a major help on my installation.

I just set up my series 6 13BREW with an SM2 and 500R CDI box and it runs real good!

Are you using series 6 ignitor? I got rid of the whole stock ignition system and went with the CDi box.

Do you have a reluctor adapter for the crank angle sensor?

you won't be able to run the stock ignitors. either bosch 008 ignitors or the 500r cdi system. i went the 500r cdi system as it is virtually the same price as 4 bosch ignitors. though the 500r is only a 4ch. you could use the motec 8ch cdi???

running no split, have a talk to riceracing. he ran no split using the autronic smc

Good Luck

Thanks for your help,

I'm not sure if I can use the stock 20B ignitors, from what I gather they operate fairly strangely, I may have to go 500R or similar cdi setup.

I was planning to convert the crank sensor to hall effect. hall effect sensor outputs are a lot less susceptible to noise and can save some headaches when setting the system up.

cheers,

Rob

thanks orx705

the r500 should be ok with my zero-split setup, using 3 ecu ign outs, 3 channels and 3 dual post coils.

btw does anybody have a wiring diagram for the stock cosmo ignitors? i'd like to find out how they work for interest's sake!
