Question Anyone here using Microtech MT series ECUs??

What's your experience with Microtech MT series?? How do they go as far as tunability and emissions?? Any hints/tips on using them to pass emissions tests?

I've got a Microtech MTX8 on my 13B Turbo (came with the car)... I was basically told by my tuner that it's a piece of junk and that I should get something else, but there are quite a few people down here that use them on (street legal) rotors. Just wondering what your experiences are with these ECUs?

I know lots of people who use them on street cars with no problems at all. I think it comes down to how well the tuner knows the computer. Having said that I think that you will really struggle to pass emissions due to the lack of tunability. Hopefully you will never get tested by the EPA.

Does your turner by any chance sell a different brand of ECU???

as for tuning them they are pretty easy to tune, most good shops should be able to tune it,
emissions well if you have standard injectors you should be able to get it close but anything bigger than that forget it

I agree with 10sec rx7, you will possibly just pass emissions if its tuned right, but the control isn't quite there with real big primaries. However its a point to note that the factory ECU does not pass emmisions when run without an air pump and EGR setup either.

Hope you hang around and share some of your knowledge with us.
