Aem Ecu?
#2
I think most of the stand alone EMS's are within par to each other in general, but varies in quality and features depending on YOUR application (be honest with yourself).
For example, I may like the convenience of having the Haltech's injector drivers support both low and high impedance injectors without harness modifications (soldering resistors).
However, AEM has some nice programmable functions where I can use it to control anything from A/C or automatic transmission over a map.
The software for AEM is nice and allows for a lot of flexibility.
The hardware for the Haltech is pretty stable and the software isn't bad if you can work in a DOS environment.
Another view:
Is Motec better (or the best) for your application when a Haltech unit can do the exact same thing but for a few thousand dollars cheaper?
Conclusion:
Shop for an EMS based on your needs and possible future needs (N20, 2-step rev limiter, etc). Try to ignore all the marketing rubbish and who is endorsing who.
