That might be a nice little tip for this thread. You can get that stuff at a hardware store, and I used spray adhesive to glue it.
they sell it at hardware stores. some of it comes in rolls pre-glued. i forgot about this too. i have been doing this since day 1.

i was thinking of doing this too. rivet thin gauge aluminum to the top side of the bumper opening, and bend it up into the front of the intercooler core (pretty much cooling panel) but box it all in closer, and more direct.

has anyone messed around with slim fans for the top of the intercooler?

i was thinking of trying to add a pair (or 1) to the top of my intercooler.

either that or mess around with a cry02 spray bar setup to keep temps down. my car doesnt get that hot anymore but i want to finally do ASB for once...... lol

I was also thinking about putting fans on the IC in the big opening in my hood... but I have a bug sprayer that I filled with water. I just hose it down between runs.

heres those pics that were asked for... The car is covered with a nice thick film of dust... I should at least wash it hah.

this is all cool when you have time to cool down. at FD events there's zero cool down time unless you call 5 mins.

Very True. I wasnt even thinking about competitive drifting. Good point. I wonder if the IC Sprayer Jaunt that you can get from subaru and dodge for sti's and neons would work... pretty much all it is is a washer nozzle that shoots water on your Intercooler. That and some fans would keep that bitch cool.

when i still had my top mount i just took my windshield sprayers and stuck them on the ic and unplugged the wiper motor.

spray the ic with ice water/alcohol between every run. charge temps were always around 85-90*f. sprayer kept it damned cold.

I bought the car this way, with a rotary works v mount. I plan on cleaning up the engine bay a lot as well.

......

edit: wait a minute, doesn't the rotary works kit come with an integrated ast/thermostat cover? (the only item of value in the kit IMO)

Shame, cuz it looks like a pretty nice setup.

I assume the bottom of that AST/coolant tank feeds straight into the inlet of the rad? I plan to run a similar setup and was hoping I could get away with just running the AST tank with a drain line on the top port. How much coolant collects in that drink bottle when the engine cools down? and does it suck it back up when it gets up to temp?

the coolant bottle didnt work at all....i didnt have a overflow drain for the bottle so it collapsed on itself...plus the coolant made the bottle melt....

I'll post a picture of my vmount. It is an extensively modified rotary works kit. I do not recommend anyone buy this kit, or anything from rotary works for that matter. You can read my rw vmount kit review and build thread here if you want. In the end, it came out great thanks to dentsport in mass.

I had to have the lower radiator neck rewelded as well. I didn't make any height altering changes to the lower radiator bracket. It's not too low now that the lower radiator neck is relocated. Engine and accessories is currently removed from the engine bay, otherwise I would get an exact measurement on height. I'm not dropped. Drop will be minimal when I do.

What's your drop and height with the rw kit?

ill dig around and see if i have a pic wheni get home. i had coilovers but wasnt dropped super low at all. but i want to say it sticks out about 2 or 3" below the stock front bumper. never hit anything when driving around or anything like that.

almost forgot, i did drill 2 holes above where the lower rad bolts up to the lower bracket. that was just to raise the rad above the bracket, just incase i did hit something it would not hit the rad.

i did like the kit i guess. the other thing i had rewelded was the coolant tank. it stuck out of my sexy style hood so had to mod that. someday i may look around for a thinner i/c, but other than that i might actually keep the whole kit installed

Me and Dan (dcwfc3s) finally re-did my intercooler setup last week. Came out pretty sweet.
