he probably had $200 in just the 2 lines/fittings. idk if you realize this, but that oil cooler/fan is pretty pricey.
@zenki i forgot about that with BN/lights down... i guess ill have to mess with it...maybe run it further into the front bumper and tube it up to protect it. anything is better than my jank *** oil cooler setup now.

Yea I thought that putting it in the bay would keep it secure, for the most part.
It would suck to have your oil cooler explode or crack while tandem/bn ripping off. A bash bar would be a great way to protect a front mount oil cooler tho, but derale wont fit there...
It would be cool to cut off the whole front end, including the firewall and tube it. Then you can mount everything where u want

the Racing beat replacement oil cooler lines are just earls fittings. and WAY overpriced. still they are -10. when i moved my oil cooler i actually used all the same fittings just replaced the hose with a longer one.
have you considered running a duct from the side of the main v-mount ducting just for the oil cooler?

The intercooler is a CXracing 25x16x4 intercooler with a 4inch core and 3inch inlet and outlet.
Hood opening is 18 wide and 12 deep
Cut the upper Rad support, welded in a front mounting bar for the IC so it sits flush to the rest of the rad support, and fabbed up a bracket for the back that holds the rear intercooler mounts and the posts on the Radiator (I flipped a CXracing FD rx7 radiator upside down) and it bolts to two of the studs that held the stock radiator.
2.5 inch pipe from the turbo to IC and 3 from IC to 75mm TB.

another thing , how do you block the rad's filler neck ? is there a special cap you can put there or you just weld a plate with a bleeder valve to get the air out that could get stuck there ?
Cause i'm planning on putting the S4 water pump housing so I can use the OEM S4 rad cap location

i have been searching for a thread like this for like 2 weeks for ideas on how to do my v mount hopefully ill be getting started on mock up next week ill be sure to take pictures and post my progress in here

My Ktec v-mount
I didn't want to give up anything when I went v-mount; no cutting the tubular support, no hood pins, no deleting a/c or o/s. I also wanted to use the parts I already had (koyo rad, stock oil cooler, evo 8 core, greddy tb etc) This all made for a challenging experience....
The guy I was working w/ to do the welding work didn't think the fans would fit as pullers....but when there is a will, there is a way.
Used the stock diversion paneling to make some lower ducting. Since the rad sits higher (because its on top of the tubular support) the stock bumper opening is pretty much useless, thus... (see attachment)
Still working on finishing my setup (needs ducting) but it works great when moving (175-185°). I think I may need a fan(s) on the oil cooler as the temps begin to creep up while sitting in traffic (195-200+°). I am also switching to a parralell flow a/c condenser which may or may not make a difference....
