in all honesty I dont know the offset, Ive been building the car up since purchase 2 weeks ago and its just running oon the crappy rims it came with. Right now if I go full lock it hits the chassis rails already. I'll be removing my set of 50mm spacers and 25mm spacers from my s14 (240sx) to use on the FC anyway.

I've just purchased a set of 17x10j et35+ which is probably what I'll be running or a pair of 17x9j et30+ which are crappier looking but would give more clearance for lock at the front...

Once my mazdratrix angle kit and my knuckles show up, I think that 'replaces' the spacers so I will be getting rid.

slava 02-27-09 11:35 AM

35 is a high offset, so it 30

you definetely wanna be in the negatives (-10,-15,etc.) for max clearance

you can run like a 50mm spacer lol

slava 02-27-09 08:10 PM

i got them on, theyre sweet

will post pics tomorrow

slava 02-28-09 12:01 AM

lol yeaaaa....

i had a extra pair of spacers so i put those on, now i got toe out haha

tie rods are pretty much maxed out so theres gonna be some toe out, which is fine. alex is helping me with alignment on sunday

dkwasherexd 02-28-09 12:45 AM

when I had the spacers installed I drove it for 1 week before I got a alignment lol. shit was crazy driving with toe out. especially on the freeway lol screeched everywhere

Hey guys the report from the track this weekend is:

My spindles are fucking awesome. I had SO much angle and could throw my car in hotter and catch it every time. JTP and I ran some Drift Alliance Aces tandem for video footy and I led, he followed me. When we pulled into the pits he was talking about how much angle I was holding and he was running lock on his car (Mazda trix inner spacer iirc) and was pretty impressed. Then I told him that I wasn't even at lock on the steering when we were running and he pretty quickly made his mind up to get some.

I see things wrong with all those spindles that I don't like in comparison to mine, but there are 1,000 ways to do the same task, so.. yeah. I like Hariguchi's spindles the most out of all those options, but I decided not to do mine that way because it puts more leverage and shearing force on the welds when done like that.

Here are pics of my spindles:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...S/Lindz005.jpg

The forces on the welds are very minimal so I am very confident that they'll never fail. Besides, the guy who welded them did an amazing job. Very very nice TIG work.

Anyways contact me if you guys are interested, its cheaper if you give me cores, of course. If I have to go to junk yards and hunt around for FCs to make these, its a big hassle. Also, you will definitely need to modify the shit out of your wheel wells to allow for clearance your wheels will need. Therefore I have considered offering different levels of modification, depending on what state of tune your car is in. Its just a matter of cutting the right amount based on your guys set up. For instance with my wheels (17x9.5 -3 235/40/17) I go to full lock and barely rub the LCA. I grinded the LCA a lil bit to clearance it, and everything is perfect now, specific to my car.

i may be wrong but that looks like some Jeff McCall inspired tuning there ...

No by all means he wasnt but then again I think you might have misunderstood me specially since I wasnt talking to you.... BUT I think those knuckles in the picture are the exact same ones he helped Lyndsey do because I remember Lyndsey coming down to Rotary Power that day he had them made, but I may be wrong.

the altitude didn't bother anyone but you guys, however everyone was prolly dehydrated from the weather since it was retarded hawt, i got drunk off 1.5 beers from the dehydration and the fact that i somehow left san diego perfectly fine and by the time we got to willow had bronchitis and lost my f'n voice, shit was gnar gnar

I have the 30mm over fenders front so im gonna use my 35mm spacers first if thats not enough aye, I'll go 50mm madness.

I now have URAS tie rods.... still waiting on my mazdatrix steering angle kit and my knuckles...

do people put spacers on the Uras rods??? or are the uras rods a direct replacement for the standards+spacers combo.

Slava, 35 series might have to be your friend

my tires are brand new. maybe the next pair

slava 03-02-09 08:02 PM

yea, i will

im gonna kill it at the march event

slava 03-02-09 11:33 PM

i was smashing the inner fenders for hours today

smash, spray paint, test, smash, spray paint, test, smash, spray paint, test

over and over and over. pain in the ass

i shouldnt be hitting inner fender anymore, but definitely hitting lca, and i see that as a good thing. xd9's are gonna get trashed, oh well

also removed the sway bar

dkwasherexd 03-03-09 03:51 AM

damn i want some cheater knuckles already

Vell 03-03-09 06:37 AM

hum, sorry about that but what you means with "LCA" ?

This mod is amazing, here (in France) we don't know that.

It means Lower Control Arm.

Vell 03-03-09 10:39 AM

Oh ... oops ... simply that ^^

FlikstRR 03-03-09 03:54 PM

so what exact setup do you have to get that much lock slava dude?

I simply have stock rods + spacers.. but I have uras rods sat here ready to go on and mazdatrix steering kit inthe post... I think uras rods + spacers wont work looking at the thread.

slava 03-03-09 11:27 PM

chance post that picture you took today

i have TWO pairs of mazdatrix rack spacers on it and Parts Shop Max Knuckles, and some ghetto tie rod cutting and shit

right now i dont really know how much angle the cars capable of with this setup since its hitting the lca. the lower offset wheels i have, the more angle i get, until i finally see where it maxes out. or do custom lca, and chance was tellin me about this ball joint spacer mod that might work too

dkwasherexd 03-04-09 02:20 AM

another easier way to clear the lca, if your wheels arent low offset enough is just get spacers.. Just slap on 30mm spacers, and max the camber, and rollfenders.. will make the car have its full potential steering angle..

Im going on the 14th.. I gotta start somewhere. lol.

TechTrix 03-04-09 04:50 PM

use wheel spacers, problem solved.

Wait, what the fuck?

FlikstRR 03-04-09 06:05 PM

I was thinking that. Surely two spacers, plus max angle knuckles and cut tie rods = over center or somekind of dangerous fail.....

my mazdatrix kit has just showed up at my local postal office but im yet to collect it.. Im going tomorrow and then will install it. My thoughts being does the spacer go int the rack, then the rod into the spacer... OR is it at the other end.. between the tie rod and the new heim joint jobbie.

probably easy question but without the kit here and lookin at the car I just want to be clear.

Turbo II Rotor 03-04-09 07:39 PM

It goes between the rack and the tie rod. Basically all it does is relocate the steering rack bump stops outward so the rack has more lateral movement.

BTW, the spacers have bump stops machined into them so it's imposible to use a pair of them. Even if you machined the bump stop out of the inner pair the rack would run out of teeth before you could take advantage of the extra lateral movement.

No wonder you had to cut the inners so much to remove toe out.

slava 03-04-09 08:18 PM

my fenders cant handle more spacers, until i get more negative camber

yea. this is why...

when i got my first pair of spacers on, i had to cut tie rods cuz i had all this toe out. then once i installed the knuckles, i had a lot of toe in. i had a extra pair of spacers so i just threw those on, cuz i didnt want to buy new tie rods and wait. so then i had toe out again, so i had to cut more.

ghetto, but it works great

USS CJ 03-05-09 12:46 PM

Yall do know knuckles dont mean:backwards entries and deep angle automatically right?

To use that much angle you need power and skill.

I have neither.

NoPistons! 03-05-09 01:47 PM

aren't you ls1 swapped?

Throw twin 60-1's on that bitch. Power problem solved.

B/C i lack skill (obviously) i'm just going with the tie rod/bump steer kit. I dont feel like fucking with all that other noise yet anyway.... Keeping it simple.

Slava's shit is rediculous. PICS OF YOUR SETUP NOW! Crawl under that mofo and snap shots of your hack and slash combo!

FlikstRR 03-05-09 02:16 PM

can anyone please post up shots of

uras rods + mazdatrix angle kit.. I have the uras rods in but am looking to install the steering angle kit with it and want to see what otehrs have done and the expected 'max' angle you get.

cheers.

USS CJ 03-05-09 06:22 PM

I know justin used to run 2 stacked steering spacers, and he was pretty stoked by the loads more angle knuckles gave him.

Pretty simple. To get the most angle get some knuckles.

haha thats a bit vague...

ok old setup:

rack -> 6mm spacer -> stock tie rods -> stock ends (applies to both sides)

new setup:

A - rack -> mazdatrix spacer -> uras rods -> mazdatrix ends
OOOOOOORRRR
B - rack -> uras rods -> mazdatrix spacers -> mazdatrix ends

Should hopefully be getting some modified knuckles to add to all that..
then its chassis rail bashing and LCA cutting. I've already got rid of both front and rear sway bars.

Are you asking how to set them up?? The Mazdatrix kit does not come with installation instructions?? LOL If you want to pm me your email I will try to find the Super*Now Superangle kit install instructions I send out with the kits, its the same kit but Mazdatrix is a rip off with less quality components. Its rather simple, here are the basics; you would want it set up to "A", use loc-tite on the spacer into rack and tie rod into spacer, and you need to cut the tie rods down 1cm because of the bolt-on spacer, just make sure you get a close measurement of the your old setup, replicate it to the new, so you can drive it to get it aligned.

FWIW, you are not gaining anything with the Uras inner tie rods, the spacers will add the max available from the rack, however you could have saved a bunch by going with the Secret Element Superangle tie rods; max angle built-into the tie rods ready to go, all for $100 (regularly $145).

I'm almost positive the uras tie rods are longer than stock with the spacer built into them. You just need the ends or you'll have TONS of toe out

Nah they are the same length, just designed with a little spacer built-in, its a generic rackend they use for all the makes/nodels; but with him using the bolt on spacer he needs to cut the tie rods.

NoPistons! 03-06-09 01:31 AM

That's why i'm getting my shit from you. Roughly a week and a half and i'm sending payment. One of the last peices of my suspension/steering (for now anyway....muahahahaha).

FlikstRR 03-06-09 03:22 AM

im off to get the kit put on and the car aligned today. Ill take photos and ill measure the stock rods against the Uras ones.

theres also no way Im cutting the uras rods so ill just try and run both lol. figure out the rest while im there.

lol was harder to understand when the car wasnt here and nor was the parts..

anyway i sorted it out, installed it today and then took it to a local place to get it all aligned and the toe sorted.
