So, traded my 1jz FC for an FD

After having it for two years and going through two KA's and about halfway through a 1jz swap, I got bored and a buddy of mine offered to trade his '93 Touring for my project. I had about $7k total into the FC, so financially I guess it was a good decision.

Here's what I traded:

And here's what I got:

Disclaimer: that's not me in the car

First thing was to remove the rear suspension and set it on the KF's to see how they'll fit, after massaging the inner fenders and cranking the camber all the way in it turned out pretty good:

Anyway, it's a twin turbo auto car, tan interior, Montego Blue exterior. Bone stock except for a downpipe and 3" midpipe, stock muffler. Actually pretty quick for being an auto, but that'll go out the door when it gets a 1jz.

For now though, it runs good so while I'm accumulating funds for the 1jz, it'll be getting coilovers, misc aero stuff, and trying to find another pair of KF's for the front.

I'm still kind of on the fence about drifting it, with parts availability and stuff it's kind of a money pit, but I don't really do competition and none of the tracks around here have walls to run into so I figure there's not a whole lot of devastating damage I can do to it. Plus FD's look ******* awesome sideways and with a 1j it'll rip. So while I'm collecting parts for the motor swap, I'll also be acquiring a bucket seat, a bolt in cage/roll bar, and trying to find a good diff.

Nice come up dude. You're gonna love the FD. I've owned a number of FC's and although I miss them, selling them for the FD was a decision I don't regret. They are just awesome street cars. They make power easily, women oggle at your ****, and they feel way more refined than the FC.

As far as drifting, I've had a number of street sessions in my FD. Its alot of fun and does it quite well, but sliding one into something or breaking some **** SUCKS. It can be expensive and you'll feel like an *******.

Because I've done this too many times, I'm gonna get another FC for the skids. I plan to track the FD once in a while, but its my pride and joy and I wouldn't be able to live with myself If I wadded it up. You can wad up an FC and find another shell for like 3 bucks.
