Sorry for the let down! lol.... still waiting on parts. I hate being at a complete stand still right now while the weather is too shitty to paint in, and I'm waiting for parts to come in -___-

Still at a stand still waiting on parts right now... debating chopping the bottom part of my bumper in the back and building a diffuser... yes or no?

Haven't posted in here in a while... progress is pretty slow right now while I'm trying to save up money for pistons. I did piddle around a little today, and nearly finished one of my head lights. I still have to clean it up some.

Rough idea of the finished look

Nearly everything is mounted... Still need to attach the side skirt and rear bumper to the over fenders where they meet, and still have to figure out a better way to mount my tail light cover other than double sided tape. Already wanting to change up the side skirts some, and I'm not feeling the front bumper anymore at all. Going to get a version select V2 when the opportunity arises. In the mean time, time to start prepping the car for paint!

Decided to ditch the green and go battleship gray for now.. I'm sure I'll end up re-painting it some other color shortly after it's running again, but this will do for now. the only pieces I had prepped were my roof wing, and tail light cover... Going to prep my hood for paint this afternoon and spray it tomorrow after work.

luckily the paint set up enough before it really set in, so theres not really a difference in the actual surface, but the hood is dis-colored where the dew set up on it. its not a big deal, i'll just wet sand it, and put another coat on it. I'm really impressed how well this paint is turning out considering what i'm using LOL

Shaved the hatch this weekend. welded the holes shut, ground it down, and then used some filler to smooth it out.

Painted a couple more pieces. the color is a little lighter than I'd like it to be, but I still think it'll turn out ok.

I would have had the bumper painted and on too, but the paint burned, so i have to strip it down and start over.

Yeah, slowly painting it myself lol... I've been painting it off and on for about a week now whenever my work schedule permits... Figured while I was saving up money for pistons and rods I'd make it all one color. For what I'm using, I'm happy with how it's turning out.

yeah, I've been looking for one for some time now. I got lucky when I found this one. I guess the seller didn't know what it was because it was actually listed as re amemiya haha.

Maybe if the tail light cover was a replica, sexy style tail light covers are pretty rare, I don't plan on cutting this piece up... like the only thing on the car I'm not cutting up.

Thanks man, Its finally coming together after working on it a couple years... I know.. I know. I really like rotaries too ironically, but I love the reliability, abundance of parts, for a SBC and how cheap they are in comparison to a rotary in the long run. Not to mention, the only reputable rotary shop I know of in Ga is three face racing. which is 2+hrs away. I can go to Jim bow's back yard and get my car tuned since its a SBC lol. Theres so many people that can tune it its not even funny. It comes down to it's just easier, and cheaper to maintain, and buy parts for. I definitely don't look at my car like its better than any other rx7 because it's ls swapped. I hate the sound of a ls1. like my buddy Russ said, it sounds like a box of rocks lol. Hopefully it'll sound pretty mean with the new setup... and not too raspy.

However, I may paint the underside that goes over the tail light black if I can get my tape lines good enough.

Painted my rear bumper today. and played around with ideas where to mount my diff cooler. I think I figured out where I want to put it.

Still have to zip tie my bumper and side skirts to my over fenders

Decided the location of my diff cooler, now I have to box my bumper support so there is a nice cubbyhole for the cooler to sit inside, then have to build ducting up to it. and get the lines made and pump wired up and mounted as well.

(its just shoved in there in the pic to get an idea of the size and location of the cooler)
